Default New ITG scores plus joe's sim played on a pad

Hey.

In my previous thread I whined how my pad at home wouldn't function properly - now that's fixed (new Lexan panels and stuff) and I have no excuses for my crappy scores anymore. :S In the same thread I posted images of only hard charts and people seemed to want to see some expert charts played by me so now I'll concentrate on those. :) My FA on hard ones wasn't mighty but still superior to my speed, haha.

Check the aforementioned thread so you can see if these scores are what you'd expect or not. :)

Anyway, I tried to pick the ones that pleased my eye the most so here they are:

Guess this was my second time actually passing the song (first one was around 88), so I like this one. Gay score though. :P

I was satisfied with starring and FC'ing this one. Previous record was like 91-92 (pad suckage)

This didn't seem too impressive to me but Jeff said the chart to be hard to FA so I guess it sort of justifies my crappy FA... (previous record 92.something)

Whoa, killer PA! :O ...eh, but my previous #1 score was like 85 so there.

I wouldn't have even wanted to * this one, seriously. (92 -> ~96)

And I passed my first 11, Xuxa! I won't post a pic though, because the score looks ridiculous. :I Got 71.40%...

Oh, and I mentioned joe's sim in the title of this thread so guess I'll post a score of that too:

...just kidding. :O That was my first time playing and passing that file, which was precisely three months ago. Back then I was really happy with being able to even pass. Personal record #2 because Laggy owned the sim on pad...

But now:

I guess that's what you call improvement. :D My second time playing the file and managed to do ~18 mil better, haha. 138 bpm 16th runs are fast enough for me. :/ joe's sims are really good for my stamina at this phase. :) Judge 5/4 btw.

So yeah, what do you guys think? Is my speed still crap? :D And oh, my reading speed has gone from 350-370 to 410-440 during the past month with ITG. Still slow? Do you better players read at like 550 or what? Spill your thoughts here! :)

WTF, a Finn who speaks/takes Latin. XD

Nice scores, I can't come close to beating any of those, neither in speed nor stamina.

Why are you playing without Marvelous timing?

Because Marvelous timing isnt used in the official DDR. As he played it on pad, he set it off.

Haha, I've studied Latin for only one course in my school so I hardly speak it. :P

And yeah, what RealLife said about having the marvelous timing. Back when I played SM on keyboard I naturally had marvelouses on and so on. Actually I should've used ITG timing windows etc. but some friends were paying me a visit at that time and they wanted to play with the same settings they had grown accustomed to. :)

Meh, I'll post one score of a hard chart anyways because I find it being rather good - for my level at least:

The first time playing that chart with my fixed pad and whoa, I doubt I got a single excellent at those fast triplets in the beginning. :O My previous record was a bit over 91. Does this compare to those expert scores at all?

Keep the comments flowing, fellows!

Your timing is cool, and that As The Rush Comes is pretty sweet, I was going to try that on my pad until I realized my adaptor was too offsync for me to even play like Max 300 I'm sure my score would look like your first time passing it though and not that beauty AA Nice stamina aswell.

Your speed/stamina certainly does need work. It's not crap, but it DEFINITELY needs some work. 410-440 is not bad, but that's not too slow either. I read generally at around 550, yes, but if you can read slow just as well that's fine. Although in every case I've seen, higher BPM = better scores.

Still however, nice scores Kumio. Keep practicing. Play songs you're not good at, atleast.. try to anyways, and improve on all levels of skill (IE, Hand Plants and what not). Just keep it up! Your scores are definitely going to improve.

I read around 650 or so... but thats only good for FA if you ask me... if you wanna get good at dodging mines, having good stamina (because its harder to keep stamina up at higher bpms), doing crossovers and handplants, I'd stick to around 400 at most... and improve your skills at that set bpm

Alright, I better start doing cardio of different sorts a few times a week. :) I sweat a lot and that's not really a good thing but not a problem either. I hate it when I get winded in the middle of a streamy song and feel the lactic acid doing its tormenting work in my calves. :/ When/If I someday cling to the bar I'm sure my arms won't get tired though.

And what comes to the reading speed....

:O I could maybe pass some 7's and so on with 650 but that's it, way too fast for me at the moment seriously. But yeah, I did read your whole post Anuj and get the point though. I was just thinking that when I someday will be able to challenge Pandy, it's 333 bpm (if I recall correctly) and if I couldn't read 500 well I'd have to play it on 1x and then all the arrows almost merge together... and I'm no pickles either. :P

It's reassuring to notice though that the players with crazy stamina aren't necessarily flagpole-shaped 6" 120lbs geeks but may have a well-proportioned frame and muscle too. :D If that wasn't the case, I'd rather concentrate on FA'ing easier songs. ;) Yes, I realize that ultimately everything comes down to the technique and I gotta work on that too because my current style of playing is very energy-consuming. Even if my stamina wouldn't get any better per se but I'd learn to play flatfooted I presume my scores on tiring songs would surely go up.

In any case I'll maybe just bump this thread if I happen to achieve some noteworthy results in the near future... and if someone would notice to be around my level on pad playing, feel free to contact me or give me challenges or whatnot.

Till later! :)
