![]() Can someone host a tournament?
It's been forever sheesh. I would, but I'm low on credits and I'm busy with the TCG. |

![]() In this day 'n age. Tournaments are something of a fleeting afterthought.
It'd be nice, but I feel like the player pool has been shrunken down considerably in the past year or so. Lack of motivation and FFR not running very well highly deters players from... well... playing the game seriously. If anyone wants to do a tournament, I'd say they have to call out Stepmania peeps and do a tournament exclusively with Stepmania or anything that's newer really. ... And yeah, pretty much it. |

![]() The last OT seemed to get a decent turnout, but yeah, community tournaments wound down because they weren't getting players. Probably because they were at the point where it was pretty predictable what the results were going to be before hand, making them somewhat uninteresting to participate in.

1) People grow up and don't spend as much time smashing arrows. Which kind of goes with #2.... 2) A lot of the top FFR players or older ones have moved on to something else (real life or other games). 3) This game is pretty damn obsolete compared to Etterna and osumania. Majority of newer gen players usually pick one of these over FFR. 4) Lack of progression (especially with the stability of the game).

I didn't mean to imply that was the only reason, but it's a contributing factor to why interest in the mid skill level dropped out.

![]() Tournaments do bring players back to the game, though. That's what's gotten me back to playing the past two times I've semi-quit. They're just a little motivation to put some real effort into the game instead of picking at favorite songs from time to time.
It was definitely easier 10 years ago when summer break meant nothing to do but smash arrows, though. Being an adult can be a drag.

![]() not to mention we haven't seen new files since March 19th, and the last like 30 or so files have had sync issues that iirc are still unresolved.
I still play when I get the urge, but it's not to improve anymore, just to enjoy files/songs. The real life thing applies to administration as well of course, they can only fix things in their own break periods. But like on top of lack of updates, game or song-wise, there hasn't been much stepped for FFR (even SM I think) recently. If the site/game wants attention beyond its already dwindling niche audience, it would need a total and complete overhaul, and given the people left working on it/visiting the site all have some semblence of a real life, it probably won't happen.

![]() Like the game is quite literally obsolete, lmao. It's a flash game that intentionally withholds features of other similar rhythm games for... originality? Like, barring some coding/developmental setback, I cannot fathom how intentionally keeping holds/mines/mods x or y out of the game. And copyright stuff too.
Someone remind me what OSU does to get away with copyright stuff and why we don't just do that? Because iirc the only reason we haven't switched is because we'd have to either start fresh on the engine with files or contact literally every artist?

![]() Copyright is civilly enforced protection. It requires people with money to spend a lot of money to attack you and get nothing in return because the game is free. Therefore osu! publishes maps first and asks questions later, only responding to take-down requests.

![]() Quick question....
Has there been any artist that actually gave a fuck that their song was used as file on a arrow smashing game - more specifically ffr?
