I bleached it first before I dyed it with the red because my hair is really stupid and doesn't like to take to anything.

I take it you naturally have really really dark brown hair (if not borderline black?)? (My hair is very dark brown, naturally) ~~~ if you're ever looking to try a weird, interesting dye--check out L'Oréal hi-color hi-lights (for dark hair). They also have something called just hi-color but I found the *hilights* line to be brighter~~go bright o go home!
