Nanos are really cool looking.

PS I listen to it all.

PPS That's not including all my CDs.

PPPS I know it's not as much as some people's collections.

5000 songs and it's 40 Gigs? Thats like 10 MB a song.

I'm not good with thinking this out and I know thats wrong but you get the idea.

I've got 30+ gigs and I know for a fact I have more than 5000.

90% of that is legal.

I just don't get why people think smaller is better. It's harder to use, easier to loose, has less space for songs and has a shorter battery life then a normal iPod. The only reason my friend is getting it is because it comes in black =/.

My 11 gigs is 2300 songs, so 40 gigs would be around 8000 for me. By Apple's own estimates (1 GB = 250 songs), you should have twice the amount of music you do.

What's the compression on most of your songs? Anything over 192 KBPS and you can't tell the difference through iPod earbuds. It's different if you're hooking it up to an awesome stereo, but if you're doing that and trying to maximize quality, chances are you don't want to use the iPod, with its built-in amplifier, as an audio source.

my friend has 90.25 days of music or something like that. essentially 3 months worth. he has a 60 gig ipod which he's filled up (twice, once it messed up) and around 180 (it's probably in the 200s now) data cds with all his music on them. he's got a binder with a print out to keep track of it.

but you know there are people with insane amounts of music... terabytes really.

While I know you cannot change the verb tense of the quote message, a heinous grammatical error, such as "he should have wrote" when correcting someone else's terrible verb tense, is kind of ironic in a painful way.

Wow... Amanda found a way to turn me off.

And really, who uses the iPod earbuds? God damn. I have to at work because if I use my etymotics, I wouldn't be able to hear the phone ring.

5710 songs
16.7 days
29.12 gigs

Almost all of it is 192. Some is more, a few are less. Very few.

I have an iPod mini that I thought my friend broke on Friday (I was pissed.) My friend fixed it the same day. The click wheel is still messed up, and i'm still pissed at her. I was angry to find out they replaced the mini's with the nano's. I have a 6GB mini, so it'll hold about 1,500 songs. I only have 500 since I lost most of it. If I didn't have my hd crash, I would have gotten the U2 one (20 gigs). I only have about 2GB left on my iPod now because I had to put all of my songs on there again, copied to the harddrive part, so that when I get my new computer I can transfer it back. once it's on the new computer, it'll be off my iPod. Oh welll, that'll still be another month's wait.

iPod nano: Cute, not enough space.

If someone ever gave me an Ipod, the first thing I would have to do is get out the dremel or belt sander, and take off the logo. THEN, I might use it, although it would be used a lot less than most people use it.

(Off topic rantings.)

People these days MUST have noise, whether it is a busy room, the sound of cooling fans on their computer, the hum of the fridge, or anything else, the have the NEED for it.

People are becomming addicted to music. People have lost the love of listening to silence, or picking out the different tiny sounds of near silence. People need noise, and yet they never listen to it. When trying to get someone to actually LISTEN to surroundings, instead of just hearing them, they always look at me strangely.

Think about when the power goes out at the beginning of the night. People MUST talk then. It is a novel experience, and yet they instantly cut themselves off from part of it. People these days are much more unobservant and oblivious to things around them.

I'd post my CD collection for fun, but there would be too many screen shots.

Also the IPod needs to fix the folders to what we have on our computers. I don't see why they won't let us do that.

My compression is 96-192 kbps but I have tons of DJ Mixes, which throws off the songs to size ratio.

Hello, my name is Ed Rush. I like to make Gigantic songs that are really repetative, and exactly like all my other songs.

Yeah I have a lot, and it's organized perfectly. Bemani stuff doesn't show right on SLSK though, makes the folders messed up.

If you take a brilo pad or sponge and rub the back in one direction you can take off the logo and words on the back. You get a brushed metal (lol) look and then the back would be protected against even fingerprints.

There's also an interesting little thing you can accomplish with this trick too, which can be seen here. http://www.users.qwest.net/~b-otis/iRule.jpg

I think the design of the iPod (including this new Nano) are great...so great I dont even want to touch it. That's why I stopped using mine. Kept gettin' dirty.
