Im bipolar 1 i havent been taking meds lately but ive been generally alright. But when i took meds valproic acid always worked.

That's why my doctor tried it on me first, though amateurs at the pharmacy thought he made a mistake choosing it over the more popular bipolar med >_>

Another reason to ask about it at least choof is that gabapentin works well for you. Valporate acts on GABA receptors likewise and has anti seizure properties all the same, so it may work similarly to that minus feeling as relaxed (no intoxicated effects like you may have on large doses of gabapentin but no tolerance buildup). I would highly suspect it to be an effective option.

Anti-depressant withdrawls are the worst. I went through that not too long ago cold turkey because my (now ex) psychiatrist is a useless twat.

Hope you get it all sorted out soon.
