So? Last year Tampa outshot Detroit 46-14 and still lost 3-2.

Also looks like Pitt is looking at a few suspensions of their own. Washington's got a golden opportunity to make this a best of 3 series.

Meanwhile in PIT-WSH, Kris Letang is going to go to an in-person hearing for his late, high hit on Marcus Johansson, which means a suspension of more than 5 games is on the table. This will nicely counteract Brooks Orpik's three-game ban.

Also, turns out there's a strict 0.6 second time window between releasing the puck and getting hit before it's considered late. Orpik's hit was more than a second after the fact, making it "excessively late" while Letang's was 0.03 seconds too slow. That, and Johansson was able to keep playing, which will probably spell a ban of 1 or 2 games. (Spoiler alert: It was only 1 game.)

Regardless, Letang is a very important piece of the Penguins defense. The Capitals must seize this opportunity.
