The pre-2005 DDR sim community had a very different feel, IMO.

I started charting in 2003 but didn't create anything relevant until at least 2005. Mostly pad files and edits that were shared on DDRFreak.

that list is missing a lot of people

sm was basically sm up until 08 tbh

when steps started to add three arrows and very slight freezes to be pretentious it was game over

Same with me. I started with edits in 2003 that progressively became much different from the original charts and eventually I made original charts. I had a bunch of files around 2004-2005 but they were gone when my old computer crashed. Some were uploaded when Bemanistyle had a database of simfiles, but that database disappeared too.
