Philly's chances just took a nosedive after Ovie laid out Couturier, one of the Flyers' best penalty killers. Looks like there's something wrong with his left arm or shoulder.

I honestly don't think they have much of a chance either way. That series as well as the Dallas/Minnesota series could be incredibly one sided.

And yeah, the Wings have a few talented younger players (Larkin, Tatar, Nyquist, Abdelkader), but I think they'll be on rebuild mode in the next years. I think with Mrazek stepping up as the #1 goalie, they might trade Jimmy Howard for another goalie with a smaller contract or some #1 or 2 pick.

By the way, I meant that the Wings might trade Datsyuk's rights to Arizona to avoid getting his early retirement cap penalty. Which would give some space for Detroit to bolster their lineup a bit and keep the streak going.

Dude. Hopefully we get some good old-time hockey between the Lightning and Wings down the road. These two are really learning to not like each other. It won't be anything like Wings-Avs (I believe the two carried the Western Conference banner every year between 1996-97 and 2002-03) but you definitely get the sense that we're in for another seven-game grind.

Bellemare is out for game 4 after a brutal hit from behind on Orlov. Should the unthinkable happen and Washington fails to sweep, he'll be back for Game 5 because the NHL goes softer than a ripe banana during the playoffs.

Wings are out and Blackhawks stay alive, forcing a Game 6 in double overtime after the "nuclear option" of putting Kane and Toews on the same line paid off. They get Shaw back after his suspension for using a homophobic slur, so the United Center is going to be rocking.
