I find with Danny, the laughs aren't as funny, but definitely more consistent.
With Jon, they're not as consistent, but the payoff is hilarious.
If that makes sense.

i watched it back then, and i watch the jon tron show, but i still find jon tron mildly grating for some reason... even though i watch all of his shit

JonTron definitely sold out sometime in the past few months. You can tell his heart isn't really in it anymore. He doesn't seem to be having fun anymore, it's kind of heartbreaking

also as time goes on danny and arin are specifically polishing up the production values and creative direction of the show through adding voice acting, taking improv comedy classes, expanding the staff, increasing the amount of animations they do... game grumps is only becoming better with age

i just wish they would stop teasing that they are going to do FF7
