I want to go to college after high school, but my mom wants me to go to BSU, which is the closest college even though I wanted to go out of Idaho for college. |

Also I'm assuming you're a senior now. You get a fresh start once you head off to college, so just look forward to that if all else fails. |

![]() Yeah it's just knowing that either I'll have to help the kindest soul in the world or I'll be paired with the biggest douche in history, or worse, kids...
I absolutely can't handle kids. I have a panic attack when there's extremely loud and obnoxious kids around, and honestly wish that I didn't. |

At least try not mentioning that in interviews and trying a job out. You could always quit if you really are paired with a douchebag |

I guess I benefit from the fact that there's a lot of people on this site from my area, including Charu, blindreper, and Afro. Haven't met any of them yet, but I probably could some day. I met a lot of good guys up at this laser tag place not too far away from my house and they were into rhythm games. Is there anywhere that has an ITG machine near you? It seems like a lot of rhythm gaming people go to places that have an ITG machine. |

Not trying to go all sage here, but take it from a 27 year old who once was an 18 year old FFRer who had the same exact problem. You gotta basically polish your good points in an interview and whenever you are asked if you can do something you are not sure you can, the answer is always "Yes Sir, No Problem" and then you grit those teeth John Wayne style and everytime you have to do it you just gotta do it. I commend that you want to be honest but trust me, anyone hiring folks without a job history already suspect that you might be making yourself look better; all you do by pointing out any faults is make 'em wonder "Shit if she confesses to that what else is she bad at?" and they'll drop you. As great as 100% honesty would be, this is one part of life where you are sort of forced to play the game. So google interview tips, walk with your head held high into that room and assume the Little Engine That Could attitude on life: You got this! |

But then I'd be a fake :v
@MixMasterLar, I know 100% honesty can kill chances at times, but the only reason answering the question like that was because I was asked something like that as a made up scenario. I felt like if I were to lie and I were to get caught in that made up scenario for real if I got the job then they'd worry or say you're out. |

![]() there's also sports clubs in college and places to play sports outside of school like a place to play ping pong or even soccer; you can also go anywhere to eat whether it's at school or not and start a conversation with someone; i used to have trouble having a conversation with random strangers, but after a while it got easier and i learned that it's okay if the conversation doesn't go well because i can always try again with a new person; i've actually met a few people this way who i really got along with and we were able to talk for over an hour for the first conversation we had

I have been thinking about joining the Boys & Girls Club stuff since it seems to be one of the few things that allows eighteen year olds to join. The other thing I have been thinking of is going to meet people at the library while events go on there, and last is trying to get back to FNM weekly so I can hang out with the friends I've made there again, but I doubt that it's enough to really even keep me from not feeling so shitty. |
