I know this has been brought up before, but I don't know how to use the keys... I currently use one hand like reach... but I can't do hard levels like payon and fotbb with one hand so then i have to add 2 hands and then you get many more misses cause its hard to independently control two hands. I tried ArchOwl's method, but two fingers is just crazy... I just can't move my fingers fast enough to do one handed levels like payon though. How do you do it??? Reach??? Arch??? lol I need atleast 2 hands 2 fingers each and I still miss a few.

One hand is old school. Two hands is for fast weird stuff.
I use one hand 99.5% of the time.

1 hand advantage - easier to feel the rhythm
2 hand advantage - easier to get complex arrow patterns perfect Whatever floats your boat. I use 2 hands in this formation: Left = Left Thumb Up = Right Index Down = Right Thumb Right = Right Middle |

he uses two fingers... left index plays two keys, right index plays two... I use one hand... middle up and down, index left, (finger beside pinky ;p) right... and on complex parts i switch to two fingers or two hands (right index up, right middle right; middle left left, left index down) but im trying to do arch's two finger method cause i noticed i can move way faster.

1 handed takes ALOT of practise...2 hand has a large advantage, so i'd stay 2 handed if you can. You can get really good one handed though....but yea, takes time to get really fast. I basically just use my 3 fingers... and...well, i move around alot, and change my hand positioning depending on the steps...it kinda just comes natural now. :S

I used to use one hand but now I switched. To me 2 hands is a lot easier.

It's the exact opposite for me. i play Arch0wl style on regular songs, but on stuff like Payon and Minute Waltz, i play one handed, so i can hit the keys faster. Yep, im weird.

I use 2 hands, but the right hand has the middle finger on the up arrow and ring finger on the right arrow. It feels less cluttered, and lets your hands rest more flat. Just rest your index finger on the left fingers, they won't mind.
And i would use 1 handed for everything, except for the up+down arrows together... my middle finger is supposed to watch both, but it cant hit bnoth at same time without completely losing the feel of the keys. Oh, and if your hands still become cramped, try left hand on L+D arrow keys, and U+R on numpad. It's nice. |
