Well there is no point for me trying it. It's not such a good idea anyway. I'm way to skinny. the more healthy way is to drink green tea and veggie burgers. Don't forget soymilk. You may think it is gross but i like it and it is
ALOT better then drinking nothing but water. If you want to cleanse your body then drink antioxidants. Besides, I doubt that this idea would work for me because I'm 14 and doing this will not be very healthy. |

Oppose the somwhat American way of making everyone into fat slobs. More food for less... then put some "healthish" dumb slogan on it like "low carbs" or "sugar free"... when the fact is that otherwise you wouldn't have eaten it at all... low carbs? hm... I think i'll just down 400 calories right here and now. I like this whole idea specforces has brought up... then again I'm kinda obsessed with keeping my weight down. My church makes us fast every month... never really got why... I think there might be a connection. I'm going to try this from right now... 2 days to start. I kinda wanna try it to test my self discipline. =p

Let me ask you all this, why do you think you lose your appetite when you get sick? Using your organs to digest food every single day is hard work for your body, giving them a few days off, not for too long mind you, this gives your body a nice break and the healing process begins.

But it messes up your metabolism and you tend to gain weight faster later on.

I would try this, but I can barely go six hours without eating, I have a very high/fast metabolism and don't gain a pound, I think it would be dangerous for me to take on this challenge even though I would like to try it. |

Does it feel good? Or do you starve all day and are tempted to eat.

You might lose your appetite when you're sick, but you also recover much faster if you eat food that is actually good for you...
Also, I probably wouldn't do the whole fasting thing simply because my body would get weaker super fast... I'm already weak enough in the mornings w/o having breakfast, I can't imagine how bad it would be after 2 days... Not to mention that I would gain a shitload of weight after the whole fasting process, because my body wouldn't know when the next meal is coming, so it would start to store my meals as fat instead of properly digesting them... And that, is why you stick to a regular dietary regimen.

Your metabolism won't change over the course of a few days... or at least I doubt it would.
If your theory of changing metabolism was right then it means that all you'd have to do to lose weight is eat a freaking lot for 4 days then switch to a normal diet... your body's metabolism would have changed to burn calories off way fast... ...and just in case you're right... patent pending.

I never said you can speed up your metabolism like that... The only way to speed up your metabolism would be to exercise... Do a little bit of research on starvation as a form of dieting, and you'll see what I mean by the metabolism slowing down...
Heres some links from my part... http://magazines.ivillage.com/redboo...7038-2,00.html http://www.allspiritfitness.com/libr...calories.shtml http://www.topendsports.com/nutrition/dietsdontwork.htm
