At this point I've spent somewhere in the $300 range for this hobby but starting out I spent I think like $35 (that's with buying the big jar of 22,000 mixed beads and trying to sort them all out). Depending on where you buy the beads you can be paying up to $6 for 1000 of a single color and there are a lot of different colors. So many times I've gone to do a project and realized I didn't have the color for it lol. Unfortunately for me the craft store here has limited colors so there's been several times I've been stuck paying that $6 for a single bag.

Things you'd need to start this

*Beads in a lot of different colors
*Something to sort the beads in, I now have 3 different containers and I need another.
*Pegboards which run around $10 for a large one or $5 for the small square ones.
*Wax paper (usually you get some with the beads)
*An iron to fuse the beads together.

I also have other tools I bought to be able to make the keychains and such. Plus all the bubble envelops I bought to ship them out to people.

You can find patterns if you look around for a lot of different things. There are these generators you can use but so far I don't like them and tend to stay away from them. Things like Carlos' perler I did straight from looking at the image so it took me 4hrs to complete. These projects can be really time consuming if they're detailed.

Awww, it's cute.

When I did this we just had the giant tub with mixed colors. Was a pain in the butt sorting through the assortment to try and find specific colors.

Yeah I have a giant tub that had 22,000 beads in it that I started with but that lacked some of the colors I needed and I never had enough of the colors lol. I ran out really fast of the turquoise, toothpaste and the browns.

I also still haven't managed to sort through the whole jar yet x.x

V, I tried doing your avi on a smaller scale to keep cost down but it just doesn't look good. It's something that would have to be larger. I'll try to mess with it some more but it's not something I'll finish tonight.

It could be done but it would have to be large unfortunately. There's just too much detail to capture in that particular image to make it small
