Why not just play Synthesia?
On another note. If theres a 10k pack released, consider me a 10k player. 10k looks like alot of fun.

i'm a stepmania first guy but tbh there's not enough content to make it enjoyable, might as well play bms/o2jam/o!m at this point eh

Re: A Viable 10-key Stepmania Setup
there are lots of midi controllers out there that you could do the same thing with
playing on a midi keyboard would be weird though, as binding the midi keyboard to keys you'd have to take into account key velocity, on some of the midi keyboards I have the lowest velocity can be super easy to trigger (lightly brushing on a key for example), and i'm not actually aware of any software that would let you map midi keys to normal keys and allow you to specify a minimum velocity here's the amazon page for midi controllers, there's a ton: http://www.amazon.com/b?node=11973721 Last edited by Wafles; 12-18-2014 at 06:04 PM.. |

Re: A Viable 10-key Stepmania Setup
"Bome's Midi Translator Classic" lets you map midi to keytaps without respect to velocity

Re: A Viable 10-key Stepmania Setup
So would it trigger at 1 velocity then? Both of my midi controllers register 1 velocity if you breathe on them wrong

Re: A Viable 10-key Stepmania Setup
they stopped making them so ya they are hard to get now, just get a cheap mini midi keyboard and some midi to usb unless it has it included cuz its prob a load cheaper than getting a fucking keyboard just to play sm hahaha

Re: A Viable 10-key Stepmania Setup
got a midi controller myself so I tought lets try this shit out, the issue with this program is that its just emulating the keys and not using any direct input so it wont use they keys in stepmania because stepmania uses directx
