My prayers are with you and your mother. That is said but yes doctors have come so far in treatment today that they will be able to treat it better than the past. Goodluck.

P.S. My grandfather on my fathers side died of a heart attack at the age of forty. His father died of a heart attack arounr the same age to. Does that mean my father, my brother, and I could die of a heart attack at our forties? I hope not. I want to live to the age of 94.

It certainly doesn't bode well. However, if you know your family has a history of heart disease you can begin taking steps to combat it. Your dad should probably talk to a doctor about what he should be doing, if he hasn't already.

Yes, preparing for it by excercising and eating good will probaly reduce my risk of early age heart attack. Also, my father probaly has already had a doctor look at him without my family knowing.

Yes, I will prepare for the battle, The Battle Of For My Heart.

I just came across the thought of the Deacon at a Mass reading off "for ddrruler's mother, for whom this Mass is intended". Gave me a good laugh.

But in all seriousness, good luck with everything. I'll be sure to pray.

Don't get too worried about it. There's so much that the doctors can do for her. And I agree with stretchypanda that you should give her the love and support that she needs. I'll be praying for you.

I feel for you. My mom has had Lupus for over 10 years now, not quite the same as Cancer but can be just as serious (which it has been).

Goodluck to you and your family.

For what it is worth, I have known many people in our extended family that have had breast cancer and survived.

My thoughts go out to your mom and your family.

Cheers,

MY grand mother recently discovered she had a palup in her ovary and went in to get it removed like the next day, after her surgery they informed her she had ovarian cancer within days she was back in the hospital and they removed the infected areas, this was about 4 months ago and she is back to normal except for the exception of not being able to pick up large things. Cancer is a very cureable and stopable thing. It is a tragic event but it is alot more common than you would think. I wish you and your mother the best of luck and hope things work out for you.

My Step-Father is recovering from Cancer in his Lymphnode's as we speak. So far, he has gone through two sessions of Radiation Treatment. My Great-Grandfather died last summer from Lung Cancer. Caused by his smoking. My Great-Grandmother Died the summer before that from Liver Cancer. Kinda sucks. But not bad, considering that before she died she went through the following procedures. 2x Hip Replacements, 2x Heart Replacements and a Pace maker, Kidney Transplant, Bone Marrow transplant, and Breast Cancer. Which she defeated.

All in all, my family hase not been the most fortunate.

Oh well.

At least it's not brain cancer. My friend's dad had that. He died.

My other friend's mom had breast cancer...she's doing pretty well now, though.

My dog had leg cancer. :P Now she has 3 legs.

I could go on and on, but I won't. All I can say is that I know how you feel. Trust me.
