There's your problem. You play on a different scale of comprehension than a lot of keyboard players do. If your base level of skill are pad-type difficulties, then you will indeed have a lot of trouble playing the kind of charts that are made today. It's just a matter of playing style to get used to, simple as that.

cool, I'm pretty good at pad packs on keyboard too but uh
these files are made specifically for keyboard play if you downloaded a keyboard pack in the Year Of Our Lord Jesus Christ 2014 expecting pad files, then I don't know what to tell you aside from "get gud" |

tuxdude: you're coming into a community where a large majority of the files are driven by spread-style play. Given that you're referring to jumps as doubles, and that you mention that you can wreck pad 11s/12s, it seems apparent to me that you are a player that uses the arrow keys to play the game, likely with two fingers (as many pad players coming to keyboard do, apparently).
The files here are not terrible by any means, and your lack of experience in the community substantially reduces any credibility your statement might have. It's clear that you're not playing files by the means that they are intended. On another note: you might want to take a look at some other BEMANI inspired games (namely: IIDX/Pop'n) and notice how their charts utilizes many doubles/triples/quads/(etc). EDIT: if you're going to continue to: a.) be brash to users that are giving you an explanation why the files are the way they are; b.) flaunt around your skill as if it is something to be desired and c.) assume that your opinion is objectively better than everyone else because of your supposed skill (p.s. I play pad too and I can wreck 14+ files, but I never flaunt that around ), this thread is going to go nowhere and I will just close it in an effort to prevent you from being ridiculed by other users.Last edited by TC_Halogen; 11-29-2014 at 10:56 PM.. |

you're wrong. point to me a file that is off sync or you're just talking out of your ass.
debatable, but generally wrong as well. there is plenty of files that aren't "note spam". Last edited by Fission; 11-29-2014 at 10:54 PM.. |

2. These community packs do not necessarily represent the ideals of everyone within it. Many people present in the community today were not even around when these packs were constructed, and of those who were, only some were part of it. 3. If you don't care what we think, then you have nothing to gain from posting a thread in public. |

there's an inherent difference in how pad files and kb files are made

Satori de pon. Not that noticable until you remove the jumps. Then it sticks out like a sore thumb

satori de pon is.. what? off sync or note spam? you're wrong on both accounts either way. fix your offset in stepmania or get your ears checked. better yet, look at it in ddream and see how the beats line up to the waveform for objective proof you're wrong.

![]() The beat lines align perfectly with the waveform peaks. The removal or inclusion of the jumps has nothing to do with the sync. Are there any other files that you think are offsync? |

i have an extremely sensative ear not just from my experience in playing ddr but i have been playing music since i was little so i notice notive a bpm change of less than 1 bpm and the same goes for syncing. if the songs offset is even off by .03 or so i notice it. i don't deny that i am the only one who notices it. it is very very small but as i said i have an extremely sensative ear.
