Mahou's MA/Stamina Progress Thread

I was inspired by Wafles to make this thread because I too want to track my progress with Stepmania. I'm going to try my best to update this after every SM session that I have.

Background information: I've played ITG for about 4 years (2006-2010) and PIU for about 3. (2011-2014). I got into Stepmania around 2011ish when I met Dylan(Zyphoror) and it's been fun since. Took a hiatus around the beginning for 2014 and came back in around May.

Strengths: Stamina, MA, Jacking, Jumpstream
Weaknesses: Speed, Handstream, AAAing

I'll kick it off with a bit of new scores from today and some from yesterday.

Bleh! These greats are killing me. I think I've played this chart way too much.


Best I can do on this one. I can't remember how many times I've played it, but I don't think I'll be quadding this one Eric.

Really solid stuff! I especially like the MA on Still Blasting. Whatever you're doing now seems to work well. I suggest giving j7 warm ups a try to sharpen MA if you feel like trying it out :P

I will definitely try the J7 training out since I've never done it before. It's great hearing compliments from a top dog player as yourself. Haha, get it...dog.

It's kind of been awhile since I have posted scores. Maybe it's the lack of motivation and how I've been looking at Stepmania lately. I bought a new kb that uses cherry mx black switches since it's the only switch that I haven't tried along with greens. The reason I picked this switch is because it's linear just like reds (which I like a lot). Plus I had some extra money laying around in the savings account I didn't mind spending. I figured it'd be better to buy a new keyboard than a bottle of liquor for my old man's birthday that's coming up this weekend.

Pros:
1. MA really hasn't been effected at all.
2. Much easier to perform handstream. I really feel like if I play more with this board, I will be able to do charts that I had a lot of trouble with. (i.e. Gay Openerz)
3. Super responsive.
4. Price was not bad at all (89 USD plus tax. I don't know why I got it cheaper in stores than on Amazon)
5. Very sturdy. I'm sure you can use this thing to help park planes. (actually, probably not)
Cons:
1. Hits stamina pretty hard if not used to the board.
2. Requires more force than any other switch (most of you guys would know this though)
3. The board does not illuminate.
4. They're a lot of useless keys on the board that I'm not going to use.
5. Unlike the CoolMaster Quickfire Rapid Pro(the brown switch kb I beat up over the past 2 years), this keyboard does not let you adjust the response timings.

Since I got this new toy, I probably will be posting scores more often. Still waiting for my IIDX controller to come in the mail as well. (hype)(bike)

I'm getting much better with black switches. They don't even feel heavy to me anymore which is a bonus. I still can't AAA, but the most important thing is that this keyboard is comfortable to me.



Best MA score I got tonight...hands down.
