I feel like the pressure that was put on Auto back when Hades was still alive, which Hades responded to with basically "Hook and Auto, but lets go with Hook because more info" feels in retrospect to be a pretty solid nudge away from a fellow hero.

Hook was in the D1 wagon, "We can always come back to Auto after Hook", and when nobody jumped onto the "go for hook 2: electric boogaloo", just abandoned mentioning Auto entirely instead of pushing to choice 2, Auto, after lynching Hook didn't gain traction.

I'm feeling TWG Auto because of this.
