The unexpected nostalgia ratio in this thread is definitely very very high

The max combo of my files never end in a 9, the exception being the conversion pack that is BCMP 6, and possibly one or two 4k collaborations. The same applies to my charts on FFR.

One more DYK that I wanted to mention but forgot:
Did you know that the South American PIU playing communities actually had their own dedicated builds of StepMania for creating and playing missions proprietary to those builds? This has actually been going on since 2008 or so, back when the user Aldo_MX created a custom fork of 3.9 that actually supported ticks (although not controllable). v1toko continued the charge by modifying a StepMania 4.0 base and adding some popular items used in missions, like potions, mines, fakes, hidden/sudden arrows (also usable as fakes), speed-mod changes (and soon after, the ability to change between lower and higher level difficulties mid-song)! Another really notable thing in newer builds is that you were able to set mission parameters on a particular noteskin (i.e. full combo noteskin 2 or you fail the mission). I actually managed to snag an early build of the StepNX build a while back and created a pretty neat pad-chart + mission with it that caught a lot of attention, including a response from the maker of the editor himself. Also, another clever one that I made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsytk76hczw if I remember correctly, Aldo_MX is occasionally credited in earlier builds of StepMania 5/sm-ssc for some PIU support. EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot to mention -- at some point, these guys got PIUIO drivers working with their builds (i.e. the builds were usable on arcade machines). I stepped Zombie Sunset for FFR knowing that it would be in the 6th official tourney and I would have to play it to compete, but I still stepped it real difficult
Real 210, which is the first leonid simfile to be in the major pack (UEMP), is actually 95% stepped by ferrari Rebound modified Dog of Flanders in vibrapack 2 without letting me know I got called BS three times: after AAA'ing I hate the 80's, after FCing demon fire during Avmiss tourney, and after posting in SM solo thread Glorious Plants chart was synced without me knowing about DDream. The whole syncing process took 18+ hours Pokemon medley and Kirby medley took 10 hours each to sync alone, and with DDream SMOC was first introduced to the western communities by Patashu, not me kjwkjw was the very first person to teach me how to step The term 'subjectivemanias' is coined by Gundam-Dude I've written scripts to turn any simfiles into inverse/switch charts The concept of inverse chart was first introduced by Patashu (Quasar Inverse) Last edited by leonid; 06-26-2014 at 01:46 AM.. |

More appropriate thread title: Random Stepmania File facts
![]() Siglemic's OP (I think it's in hard pain of hell) was actually synced by my brother who has never stepped a chart before. I had tried to get it like 4 times and he got it in one. Wrecking Ball's background image was originally going to be a screenshot from her riding the ball nude, but I didn't do it because the idea of arrows flowing into her vagina seemed funnier to me, which is why the image is actually upside down. (SM5 is the version I use so if it doesn't line up, use SM5. You'll see what I'm talking about.) Totally irrelevant things really.

Some more facts I remembered, although they're really not big ones.
- Raikou Rider from BMS started a Beatmania Pad Pack a few months before the wipe. I stepped Flute Man as it's boss song, but he didn't accept it cause it didn't sound like a boss song. My Flute Man simfile was downloaded more on ZIV then his entire pack was in general. - The simfiles for Programmed Sun (xac antartic ocean remix) and Reflection Into The Eden in Dance Anarchy were stepped for me. - My KB End of the world simfile's Challenge chart is the same as the Expert one but with several hundred mines added and was done just like how Linus made the Challenge chart for his I can't defeat airman simfile annoying. - I stepped The Concept Of Love for FFR, but was rejected cause of the uncertainty of the rights we had for Hideaki Naganuma. The same batch had Ska Cha Cha and that was accepted. - Most of the Up and Down arrows in my Vox Up simfile can be hit with either foot while still maintaining balance. - I stopped posting on r21freak for a long time after someone changed a few measures in my Abracadabra simfile and got Simfile Of The Week. - Initially, I stepped Bonamana to trick people into thinking it was an old Gundam-Dude simfile. - The only Challenge Doubles chart I've ever stepped is Diamond Dust Act 1 in the VGMPP. |
