2a03 is the sound chip used for most nes/famicom games' music. it's only 4 channels and an extra channel for samples.
so this could've played on a super mario bros. cart.

I saw the thread on a chiptune forum about Moe Moe Kyunstep, and chibi-tech revealed that one of the ingredients to her "secret sauce" was a custom hardware timer.
Maybe that helps, maybe it doesn't?
