best way to fix exp share:
buff every trainer in the game

or don't give it out so early. like, before victory road or after e4
exp share works fine as is, it makes leveling pokemon a fucen breeze

they should make trainers use semi-intelligently ev trained pokemon so battling isn't reduced to USE YOUR STRONGEST STAB

Give it a v1 where it works like in Gen2-5, and then post game make it possible to upgrade to Gen1 EXP All.

Even outside of the EXP Share this is a HUGE issue. It's a game meant for 10 year olds sure, but I mean you turn on challenge mode in B/W2 and you have a bit of a treat. Also, fighting Cynthia in PWT is sooooooo much more fun for this. Bring this back, but enable it pregame as an option similar to the language.

And we're talking good AI like Cynthia's for everyone. (Except she can keep her 6 IV perfect team. That should only be done once for champions.)

white/white 2 has easy mode, black/black 2 has challenge mode
you can unlock the other's mode somehow but i forgot how

all it does is tweak the level of opponents you face in the field. they might also change their lineups a bit, such as Champ Iris tossing out a Salamence. easy/challenge mode doesn't affect pwt or battle subway, much to my chagrin

battle subway, fortunately, is pretty tough if you're not prepared for it

with the advent of online battles though, endgame is now canonically battling trainers from across the world
well, grinding battle *insert term here* for points to spend on things that make training for online battles easier

you can beat the battle subway v1 (easily) with movesets you get before beating the game :L
v2 battle subway is still a pain in the ass either way though.
