Hi there guys,
well...I have a problem that really keeps bothering me: First of all, English is not my mother's tongue, so it's not going to be perfect, but I'm pretty sure you can understand what I want to say. So, I'm playing Stepmania for quite a long time now, and I got pretty...decent at it. A while ago I thought it might be fun to give FFR a try, and so I did. But I'm not nearly as good in FFR as I am in Stepmania recording to my accuracy... No matter how hard I try to hit the arrows at the perfect time, I always get more "goods" and "perfects" than "amazings". I tried FFR standalone, but I still have the same problems... It's impossible for me to AAA a song in FFR because of that, and it's really bothering me. So, is there anything I have to change in the options like calibration or something like that, or is it just a problem you have when you are not used to the timing of FFR? |

The default perfect timing is much earlier than in stepmania. it's very likely you are getting a lot of late goods. The timing in ffr from ascending to descending accuracy is "good, good, perfect, amazing, perfect, good, average". There is an option called "offset" that you can change to move the timing so that the amazing frame is in the middle of the arrow receptors.

Even the best players of this game call themselves charmed if they get a ten to one amazing to perfect ratio on a given playthrough. All amazing only ever happens with very simple songs. |

I love you. I'm going to spend a lot of time watching this thread to see if the problem is fixed. In the meantime good luck trying to fix it, I've been trying for years. |

So let me get this straight:
The judge offset is the number of seconds you shift the timing windows, and the significance of right-clicking after a song is so you see the average amount of time you were off by on that playthrough? If so, if I have a judge offset of +0.25 and I get a readout of ~+0.2 over a few plays, should I change the offset to 0.45? (Basically, I wanna see if the number there is something you should add to the offset you're using to get better accuracy.) |

If I'm not mistaken the suggestion is a set amount based on your accuracy of a playthrough, not an addition or subtraction from your current setting

Not quite, because it's adjusted to show you the absolute offset rather than something relative to your current setting. Just makes it easier to use / copy down. So in that case you'd reduce your offset to 0.2ish.
