No one watched the feature they had on Attack of the Show a week or so ago? You can now get machines like this for around 350 dollars (lest my memory fails), and Kevin said it actually allows you to actually taste the 'taste' more, rather than the sting the alcohol causes. Also, as many people have stated, it takes a long time. None of the friends I know who drink to get drunk would buy this. And I know many of them. It costs a lot, you still have to buy the alcohol, and it would take much more alcohol to get you drunk. I don't get why this is bad, or even sketchy. If a kid wants to get drunk, they will. And inhaling seems to be more of a put-off to kids who don't smoke. They would much prefer to just imbibe it. And I haven't really heard any solid report that this takes away a hangover. And what about adults who just want to drink to get drunk by inhalation in the privacy of their homes? Why should they be excluded from that right just because some teens abuse it (which some of the do to everything anyways...) I don't get why this is so bad. Anyways.

I wouldn't have thought this would be possible, which makes me question if this machine is legit. I wouldn't think the vapours would be able to absorb properly into the blood stream. I could be wrong, but it just doesn't seem like this would have the same effect as injesting alcohol.

There's seems to be no way to win though for people who don't want to get drunk, but enjoy the taste of a liqueur. Non-alcoholic beer, etc. gives the beverage quite the bland taste, so it's not the same by all means. Anyways, I have nothing against selling the product, I just think its stupid (maybe even a hoax) and I wouldn't buy it.

The alcohol simply enters the bloodstream through the lungs rather than the stomach. I'm sure it's not that simple, but I certainly don't think it's a hoax.

I have no doubt that it can reach the lungs (obviously), my personal concern is if a reverse effect can happen in order to make the device effective. Normally, when ingested, the alcohol vapours will come FROM the lungs (hence a breathalizer works) and detect how much the user has been drinking. I'm not sure how well the lungs would accept alcohol vapours (most likely the same as most other gasses), but I'm not very knowledgable about anatomy and biology so I'll just stick to the fact that I wouldn't purchase this.

I love the fact how this is the one thread that Synth has posted in lately, and this thread just happens to be about getting drunk... Coincidence!? :P

As for the idea... I think it's a bad idea and such, but the fact that you can breathe it in now, is just kinda cool... Technology-wise that is... I can't really explain it...

You both forgot one key fact:

1. This isn't a "noob" thread, and I'm not a "noob", Go piss and moan somewhere else. Your "I'm so mighty I'm going to flame you" bullshit isn't welcome here.

2. I'm many things, but far from stupid. Who are you to call anyone else anything after you've said things like "roflrofl" and "go suck a Jr. Necki" anyways. Get the fuck over yourself. Idiot.

Tps222: Ha, you little genius you. You came in here with your big bold letters and sure showed everyone just how awesomely incorrect you were. Newsflash asswipe: I'll guarantee my life that you own approximately 0 of these machines, so don't come in here and expect to be appraised for your daily teachings of shit you know nothing about.

ToshX: You know what's even more annoying than Vash talking about "getting it right"?, it's the people that reply to him. We all know Vash is an idiot, so here's a valued lesson to keep in mind: "Idiocy can only continue when fed attention".

Spec, I have no problem with you, as a matter of fact, I consider you an intelligent, easy going, friendly person, but please, don't flame my threads and don't point out obviously useless things that you are convinced are going to annoy me. I like you, but I know this article is old, I just don't care.

*The point that I'm getting to is this:
It's a forums thread. You have to click on it to read it. It's simple: IF YOU'RE NOT INTERESTED, DON'T CLICK ON IT. The front line/topic of the thread didn't state that it was going to be awesome, nor liked by everyone, so it's simply childish and entirely your fault if you chose to read it. It's the internet, you control your destination. It's immature and ignorant to reply if you actually have nothing to say about the topic, and most importantly implies that you need a hobby.

Grow up guys, this shit's getting old

Just pointing it out to all the people that thought these things were still brand new. My friend actually pointed it out to me when I showed him the article.

whoever said that people drink for the taste probably haven't drank much, or with many people, and I can say that with some certainty given the age of people on here.

people drink for the alcohol, or else there wouldn't be alcohol in the drink. people who drink responsibly don't drink to get shitfaced, they drink for the effects the alcohol has, which isn't to get stupidly, belligerantly drunk, but rather to have loosened inhibitions and feel the slight, alcoholic "buzz".

why would someone make a mixed drink, something fruity that really hides the taste of the alcohol for instance, and have expensive alcohol in it, making it more expensive, but not taste significantly different from the same drink without the alcohol, if they only drank "for the taste".

Skooter, if you were smart enough to realize that those were directed to emptiness then most of that post could of been avoided.

I think if you meant for this to be taken seriously you should have found a more recent article. A lot can change in a year, especially in the subject of technology. I was going to a retard and post links to a bunch of tech stuff from a year ago, but I won't. Point being, if you want to keep this thread somewhat decent, at least present a valuable article for us to read, which will educate us on it.

How many people need to say that it's an entire project just trying to get drunk off this thing? You'd get just as high off the oxygen alone. It's a fad; an old as hell one, at that. If this were any more than a passing novelty, it would be all over the place.

Now, powdered alcohol - there's an idea.

Edit: What would be even better is if they added a non-toxic endothermic reactant. Instant ice-cold whiskey sours! Revolutionär des alkoholhaltiges!
