Considering how busy I am with school these days, I'm surprised that I've strung together a so-called "social life." Oddly enough, ever since I adopted an overwhelmingly blasé attitude toward social interaction, that part of my life has flourished more than ever. I spend the majority of my weekdays with my hilarious math friend (we keep each other insane), and I talk to several other people I know at the university on a daily basis. Thursday nights are devoted to pub trivia, so I see an entirely different group of friends/acquaintances there, and then weekends are set aside for my non-university friends (when I'm not doing homework or sleeping at bizarre hours).
It's a great balance, even if I don't see some people for months at a time. Whenever breaks come along, I'm able to hang out with everyone... except for Reading Week next week, where I'll be in Disney World instead. ![]() I'm a little freaked out about heading to grad school next semester, since I'll be abandoning literally everyone. I'm secretly yearning for an offer from SFU so I can be a new member of the VancouFFR group... or, I can go to Waterloo and be close enough to Rob to annoy the shit out of him. :twi lite: |

I'll understand if you get offers from both schools and ultimately choose SFU over Waterloo, but I'll still be pretty rattled.
I heard tons of people at Waterloo have gambling addictions and are willing to play almost any game for money. We could easily hustle iSketch. |

Other than not being able to go out with my friends on Friday and Saturday nights because of work, it's pretty good. I see my friends during the week and we hangout all the time. Going to the gym with friends also helps.

My social life's okay, I suppose. I'm also an introvert, so I don't hang out with people often unless invited. Weekdays are mostly spent working, and I'm on a "hello" basis with my co-workers/supervisors. They're a fun bunch, though.
On weekends, I sometimes hang out with friends, whenever we have game night or D&D night. I always spend at least one day of the weekend with my family, where we eat dinner and watch a movie. Online, there's FFR and Facebook, and I have one close friend from New York who I talk to on a regular basis (guitar_hoodlum on FFR). No girlfriend, and no prospects thus far, but I'm okay with that. My condoms expire in April, though. FFFFFUUUUUU-! Last edited by JohnRedWolf87; 02-10-2014 at 08:16 AM.. |

My social life is non-existent now because I moved to Thailand from Australia. I don't have any friends AT ALL here in Thailand so I rely on talking to FFR peeps on skype or irl friends through Facebook. Before I moved back Thailand though, everyone in the school I went to knew me. I had a wonderful social life there and never felt so close to society before.
Now I'm just lonely. RIP social life :/

Not as social as I'd be happiest being, but still occasionally manage to enjoy spending time with people. Doing activities that are interactive in any, way, shape or form helps that a lot.

Superb. From meeting new people on the bus commute or in the city all the way to the solid friends in school. Feel like I wasted probably the first 18 or so years of my life being too introverted but am catching up now

My social life is pretty okay for now. Can't really complain about it, but I would like to broaden my horizons as far as trustworthy people go. Other than that...I talk to my friends in real life once in a blue moon and spend most of my time being independent XD

My mental health is way too messed up to be an introvert. I guess I'm shy. Thanks, Izzy.

I'm sure you can be fucked up in the head and be introverted. You can also be both.

I get really lonely really quickly (v)> I nearly always desire to be in the presence of other people, whether that be online or in person. Of course, like anybody else, sometimes I do need a bit of "alone time." Being in college helps a lot since I get to see people I know and can talk/hand with at least 5 days a week (typically between classes). There are these tables outside the library with electrical outlets so that makes it a nice place to hang out with people
However, I would like to "go out" more often and do things other than just hang out on campus because I suck at scheduling common meeting times with people (there is one friend though who I spontaneously "go out" with, she calls me her "adventure buddy".)Anyways, Skype is a good tool for when I want to spontaneously talk with people and such which fulfills my social desires to some extent However, after some point, even Skype won't cut it; I need to get out of the house at least once in awhile or else I'd go insane :P(Also, random note, doesn't have much to do with this topic but it occurred to me as I was typing this post. Does anyone else have the issue of people you can't remember saying "hi" to you? Whenever I walk around school, there are people that are like "Hey Reuben!" and I exchange a "hey" back but I don't even know who they there (although they may seem familiar).) |

I only socialize for as much time as it takes to justify the amount of time I'd prefer to spend alone doing things I solely enjoy. It isn't an obligation as much as a feeling of balance; I don't enjoy either if i'm neglecting one area for the other.
