I like the bible and I find it compatible and relevant to life today
my view on evolution: evolution happened and the earth is billions of years old but 6000 years ago was when man reached the mental comprehension required of modern man for God to carry out his work. Genesis then starts.

tbh and playing devils advocate for once, f you're going to sit here and talk about freedom of speech issues (on an online forum for a random flash game), then you should not cry foul when incendiary, trollish remarks get made. others have the right to be hecklers and (the online version of) picketers as much as you do to discuss bible verses.
From this thread there clearly is some level of enthusiasm for a decent, engaging thread on this issue, and I'd actually love to read it. i just don't think freedom of speech is really the issue here, not to mention that all of what you mentioned isn't really what is meant by freedom of speech anyway. the real issue is...what were you expecting? at the very least a thread like this in CT might work, but in chitchat?

my view on creation: I believe that the law of conservation of mass was always relevant in the universe and that if there was a Big Bang in the beginning, there had to be organization to bring us about where our existence is today. an explosion in the kitchen doesn't create a beautiful three tiered wedding cake, even if we wait billions of years
iirc in Hebrew, the word translated to english as Creation in the OT is just as closely tied in with "organization"

Okay, humour me, we'll do a mulligan: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...d.php?t=135099
Moved to CT since most posts are going to be interpretation of passages I'd imagine, and deleted everything except the OP. I can't monitor this thread because I have class in 10 minutes, but obviously there is some interest for this topic, so I'm (hopefully not regrettably) trusting that this community can make this a decent thread. Hopefully I don't come back in 4 hours to a shitshow. |

Expected you to share some folklore of course. Got any to share?
Here's one. I saw the legendary Bigfoot on a camping trip years ago. I couldn't get a really good look, but I'm certain it was the infamous Bigfoot! I heard it grunt! A very aggressive grunt at that. If only I had a shitty camera with me to make a blurry picture to show off my middle school friends. |

I don't think you understand what "Freedom of Speech" means. A lot of Americans don't.
It means you can say whatever you want, and will not be prosecuted by the administration for what you say (although you may still be liable for direct negative consequences of what you say, such as damage to people or property after you yell "Fire"). That's what you have in the US, and arguably it's what you have on FFR. Not all websites have this, but then, they're not guaranteed to. Freedom of speech does NOT mean you have the right to not be offended, or to not be criticized. In fact, if we forced everyone to agree with you or to be nice, that would be censoring what they have to say. You are not the only one who gets to be free. If you want a place where you can post controversial things and be agreed with, I recommend somewhere other than FFR.

I agree that everyone should have freedom of speech in FFR. However, I also believe that forum moderators are justified in closing threads if the original post and/or subsequent posts have no merit to a constructive discussion. You can't control what people are going to say. There will almost always be posts that have no merit, especially when the topic at hand is controversial.
We don't have freedom of speech in FFR because the moderators and administrators have all of the power to decide which threads will be closed and/or deleted, among other administrative powers. Unfortunately, we don't have any assurance that FFR posters will respond constructively to a controversial thread. However, I personally believe that not only moderators and administrators, but the FFR community should be reactive, and not proactive. Even if the subject is controversial, it won't help the community become any more receptive to controversial issues if people assume the thread will have no merit and become part of the problem. Please consider contributing to controversial threads even if you think the thread will have no merit or be locked. ![]()

if the admin decide to be totalitarian and censor us heavily it's basically tough shit because this is an internet website and not american public property

pretty sure by freedom of speech he means posting a topic in CC that was locked when I didn't necessarily break any rules (even tho it fits better in another subforum) but you cant blame him because other subforums are mostly dead
so

but it's also not like you have any inherent right to talk about whatever you want unhindered on a privately owned website
