You don't have to buy them right now. However, March 15th is when the prices will go up (by about $10 I think).

also MN, you don't have to buy tickets right now, but keep in mind that there are a limited number of weekend passes and once they're sold out, they're sold out. usually weekend passes won't all go until march/april, so you should have some time to plan and save money. I suggest talking to the FFR peeps from Quebec that are going to AN and see if you can hitch rides and rooms with them.

i just tried calling Radisson, Sheraton, and Crowne. asked for may 22 through 25, and mentioned the code things from the anime north site. none of those said they have availability for all of 22-25.

any tips? do rooms usually free up closer to the event, or would looking elsewhere be advisable?

most hotels don't really know if there's extra room(s) until it's closer to the actually dates, so try calling again in march or so. last year, I was initially booked for the doubletree but got a radisson room last minute in like april after someone canceled their reservation. a lot of people cancel reservations because shit happens aka poor budgeting, not enough room mates, etc.

recall them and ask them to be put on their waitlist for free rooms. :P
