I would guess something between 99.9% and 99.999% of what Anonymous publically states, claims, and does is a bunch of idiotic teenagers with too much time on their hands hiding behind a convenient faceless internet name to cover their script-kiddie nonsense.

Anonymous, the -actual- Anonymous is, you know...Anonymous. They gain NOTHING from posting stupid 4chan bullshit videos of talking all darkly into mics with V for Vendetta masks on.

Cicada 3301 was quite probably the sort of thing Anonymous uses to find people they even consider worth talking to, let alone working with, and none of these guys changing their name on Twitter to 'Anonymous' while the account name is still something stupid like @TheDrunk3nPanda would have the first idea how to even look at those puzzles.
