Can We Bring Back
Those of you who are newer probably do not remember Widgets.
www.flashflashrevolution.com/widgets However I think they are and were a pretty great idea. It gave a user more variety and they were able to play better songs. It was also a way to post them on my site so others could play with. I see that most of the widgets use like myspace links to the artists page and what not. There are other pages like Reverbnation / Sound cloud you could contact artists and get permission and such. I think it's a really cool feature.

Re: Can We Bring Back
As far as I remember, Tasselfoot was the major widget guy back when we had them. But he left when FFR went down, and so did widgets as well as anything related to promoting artists or making revenue for the site. Since the site is not based on making money at all any more, I would assume artist promotion just isn't something that someone is going to spend time on doing for free.

Re: Can We Bring Back
You can just use widgets to embed on other sites without promoting artists. Just use songs already in the game. The point would be advertisement for new ffr players.
You could also just put the ffr game wherever by linking the official one. |

Re: Can We Bring Back
yeah I know ... However I liked the variety of rock music from artists. They should totes get up on making the revenue and such.

Re: Can We Bring Back
Another drawback of widgets was that it flooded the game with low quality charts, or at least files that people REALLY hate having to play over and over for the AAA when they're 3 minutes long or more.
Admittedly, it's hard to make good easy charts, but still. |

Re: Can We Bring Back
I thought the widget songs weren't part of public ranking.
