The house was likely abandoned by Skylar because of the threat and media attention - maybe there was word about a bank repossession in a previous episode since she couldn't exactly afford it on her own. But, that wouldn't stop people from just walking in and spray painting Walt's now well-known drug lord pseudonym on the wall.
