Back in the 2005-2007 era, Shashakiro.

2008 was the vibrating age and that's when I saw players like Isaac (Sakish) and Danny (now goes by redsea on FFR) getting insane vibrating passes. http://youtu.be/v-01Tmnayts?t=1m26s There were also other guys such as Dynam0, henkz, and eliazzen getting sick vibrating passes.

After 2008 I kind of just did my own thing. I got the first AA on Death Moon Edit in 2009 etc. in that year I didn't really look up to anyone, I just kept playing the game.

This is a great thread. I've always wanted to give shoutouts to online bros I have never met.

I started my journey on the pad, so I guess my first hero was iamchris4life. I remember seeing him do BMR's A and Cartoon Heroes (backwards) on ebaumsworld. Also, the famous JSB vs Reflexx LoM video stuck with me.

As I transitioned to SM, the video that stuck with me the most was Arch0wl's Quasar 1.5x AAA. Also, I downloaded all sorts of simfiles from bemanistyle so I remember names like RaikouRaider, phenomega, Karppa, etc.

I took a huge break from everything and got back into it last year. New heroes like BROSONI, RIN-GO, and MadMatt emerged. Currently, I feel dwarfed by all of these fantastic players on this site, so I look up to a lot of people, particularly Dossar and Staiain. Also, I look up to people just outside my skill level like Xiz because they help push me.

If I have to go by skill, simfile making and personality:

Skill: Dynam0 has definitely been one of the people I've looked up to. Staiain too, but I'd say he has a greater influence than Stai did. Others include Isaac, Dossar and AJ.

Personality: moches, alloyus or danceguy, no questions asked.

Simfiles: bmah, although I might not like all of his files, his knowledge on simfiles is extremely vast and he is a great person to talk to when it comes to simfiles. ilikexd's getting up there too, in my opinion.

Dossar and Isaac have always been my inspirations. The main reason I have started switching to spread is because of Dossar's achievements on ffr. I saw his rate thread and I couldn't help but feel sad that I USED to be able to compete with such a skilled player [even if it was just on vibrafiles]. Both of these guys have showed me a lot of love over the years.

Oh yeah, redsea/Danny was also an inspiration to me back in the 2008 vibrating era. He got 15 misses on roflcopter and a lot of other vibrating scores that blow my mind, haha

I used to look up to Dossar and Eze back when I was still in my BS phase. I probably wanted to be on their levels so that urged me to Judge1Life1. Been a long way since then, and I still find myself looking up to them in one way or another.

I guess when I started caring about the game it was all about Shash. But then he became a selfish bastard, and I was living really close to Hammy so I always thought of him as the kind of player I'd want to be. Sure, he was an absurd arrow-smasher, but more than that he was just an awesome guy. The Hammy and Chaz days were some of my favorite. I miss ya, bud =')

When I started to get to know players, I also looked up to Roy (Dossar) for the most part. I used to always think he was a Stepmania god and watched his SM videos all the time, haha. Dynam0's MA scores made me push myself to scores I don't think I'll ever get again (Cry of the Brave 17p, Dignity 3p, Superluminal AAA, and more)
Oh, I used to watch StepmaniaFreak a lot too, too bad I never got a chance to talk to him.

When I first started, I looked up to Bahamut-X, Shash, and Reach

Once I started Stepmania, I only looked up to Thaor.

Now I look up to people like samurai, issac, dynam0, staiain and pretty much MA gods like AlexDest, midare, oldcartoon etc...
