Why is it called Mad Matt's OP? I thought he only played ITG/pad

TheBoxX made it to give him a challenge on pad. Sigatrev was Mad Matt's YT name before changing to his real name, so technically it's his OP.

Though if you want to change it and leave Sigatrev as the title that's fine.

I probably will want to change it to Sigatrev. Not feeling Mad Matts OP, partly because there are no other OP's in the pack, and partly because yeah, he's an ITG player.

You could also reverse the titles, put Sigatrev as title and Mad Matt OP in subtitle.

This sounds like a good idea. Let's plan on that.

Review time.

(rCaliberGX) Cardboard Box - Sigatrev (Mad Matts OP)
Accepted
Crazy hard for me. Like super crazy hard. Skwid says its hella fun, I'm gonna kind of take that on faith from him. I think the file sounds awesome and i think the steps look really well done, it'll be a couple months til I can pass this I think. 240 js is a bit hard for me, but it fits in as one of the hardest songs in the pack now.

(Alioth) DE-STRAD - Healing-D-Vision
Conditional - Needs a significant amount of fixes
It'll be difficult for me to criticize this in a nice way because I absolutely hate poly files, and while other people might find them fun, I personally don't. Polyrythms to me don't take an extraordinary amount of skill to play but are incredibly difficult to accurately MA if the patterns distinguish the poly parts enough. The polys in this aren't really bad from what I can tell, but there are major issues throughout the chart. Either way, I'll try to remain objective in my criticisms here:

Sync is very off. Your beats are around 30-40ms early.

The first half of the file you have 24ths charted rather inconsistently. You always seem to catch the 24ths that land on the drums, but the ones that are not on the drums are very inconsistent. The ones that match to the higher synth in this section seem to be relatively randomly placed: you do this for some, but not for all, and for no apparent reason to me.

I also cannot understand why you chose to put hands in a lot of places in the file, namely the first half again. The hands don't match the snares, and they don't match the kicks either, they seem entirely random to me.

The hand poly section about 3/4ths of the way through the file is borderline impossible compared to the rest of the chart. This needs to be toned down, the way its charted causes really difficult minijacks in a hand poly section, which is leagues and leagues more difficult than the rest of the file.

Speaking of minijacks you put some triplet minijacks in the beginning for no apparent reason. This isn't a huge deal but it did bother me a little. I would be ok if you didn't fix this, its just a recommendation I guess.

More minijack issues: I found several random minijacks, I'm guessing these are mistakes because they have no audio queue at all. A couple of examples: beat 227, 276.75, 284.75,172.5. Note that these beats are in ddreamstudio, there is usually a difference of a couple beats between ddream and the sm editor.

So yeah, this file needs a lot of work. Its not inherently bad by poly chart standards but the general inconsistency and difficulty spike leave a lot to be worked on. I'll gladly accept this file if you fix all of these issues (except for ones that I said were not a big deal).

Thanks for the review!! Yea I made the file in a day, plus I don't really play that often because I am a very busy person. However, I do understand your viewpoint for the file, and I will try my best to fix up the file as soon as possible. I don't know how long it will take to fix the errors. I'd say give me a week.

I'm not going to bother giving an in-depth review for Hardkore Atomic or Curse of the Werewolf because they were rejected already for the exact same reasons I would have.

(rCaliberGX) Cardboard Box - Mad Matt's OP
Accepted
I honestly really can't think of any criticism for this file. Great song choice, it's incredibly fun from start to finish, and it's just right as far as difficulty goes.

(Alioth) De-strad - Healing-D-Vision
Conditional
The majority of this file is pretty fun to play, while not being super technically accurate with jump/hand placement (notably in the first half), but you gotta do something about those hand polys, man. It's not as if that section is "wrong" or anything, but it's such an insane difficulty spike and it's not fun to play.

I'd suggest just changing that section to go from single notes--->jumps, rather than jumps--->hands for the polys. It'll make it feel a lot less bullshit while still keeping the feeling of increasing intensity that it currently has. Or just straight jumps or something idk. Just anything but those hands.

There's also a seemingly random minijack in the beginning of the ending JS.

To me, the 12th minijacks Wafles pointed out are a complete non-issue and I find them fun, but I agree with most of the other criticisms. This chart has the potential to be pretty neato after some fixes, but I just can't accept it in its current state.

Friendly little reminder here: we just hit 40 files. The current plan is that as soon as we hit 50 files that we are confident with that we will post a last call thread giving about a weeks notice before the release. The final pack review room on SMO will be held the day before release. I will PM details to people as necessary.

I think currently Skwid and myself are happy with all of our files in the pack. September release is possible. The original plan was October but we got a lot of submissions the last few weeks.

Just sent another file. I originally made it for Nuclear Blast 5 and sent it a few months ago, but I couldn't stand how bad it was so I went back into the editor and redid it.

edit: When looking at it in DDReam, it cuts the last 3 notes off because there wasn't enough time left in the audio file to place another beat. They show up in the in game editor though, so don't save it in DDReam or those notes will be cut off.

Reviews because I wanted a break from studying for this liscense exam I have tomorrow morning.

(rCaliberGX) Static-X - Brainfog
Accepted
My favorite file you've sent so far. So far everything you've sent has been absolutely gold, keep it up man. The 16ths sections are rediculously fun and the 24ths sections are a fun challenge as well. Perfect song for a simfile as well.

(MrTea) Candyland - Castle of Affair (Butch Clancy Remix)
Accepted?
I'm really a bit unsure about this one. I thought it was fun, and difficulty really isn't an issue. It is a bit easy, and some sections tend to be a bit boring. I'll talk with Skwid about this later and let you know one way or the other on what happens with this, but I'm really really on the fence about it. This is hardly trap, I'd honestly say this is closer to dubstep, kind of lol.
