It's probably just somewhere else, but I suck at looking.
Would I be able to submit a chart that I made? If so, how would I go about doing it? |

OP of this thread for rules and how to submit: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...d.php?t=116884
Make sure that FFR has permission from the artist for the song you use: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...d.php?t=131270 |

It's a Touhou remix, so I don't know how permissions would work.

You would have to get permission from the artist doing the remix or the cover. ZUN has explicitly stated that he is not giving permission for his music specifically, but he has no issue with other artists creating their own renditions.

Then I have two problems.
1. How the hell am I supposed to hunt down the artist for a touhou remix in a SEA of remixes/artists (probably a stupid question, but asking anyway). 2. I actually lost the song name. Screwed up and renamed the file to make it easier to make a chart. |

That's great and all, but I still have no clue on how to find the song name. (I renamed the file, like I said before)

check id3 tag? keep in mind this won't work if the music file wasn't tagged before.

I would start by stepping songs we already have permission for, not to discourage getting new permissions, but it's an awful lot to worry about for your first chart. Be sure to read that permissions thread thoroughly if you are going through with it.

on the contrary, a lot of songs that would make for great files don't have permissions. not really sure why it matters if it's his first file in FFR or not. besides, how do you know he isn't already experienced?

Oh I've screwed around with charts before, but I've never made a full one.
I have, however, made an edit for a Butterfly chart, made it harder. Is anyone interested to see either of them? Even if I can't submit my own, I'd like to see others' opinions, see if I'm making my chart right. Edit: I don't know how important it is, but I downloaded the song from youtube. The Name doesn't seems to exist in the details, nor probably existed in the original form of the file. If there is anyone here that listens to a lot of touhou remixes, I'd like to ask if you know the name of it. Last edited by Kukurin; 08-21-2013 at 03:50 PM.. |

if you pm your chart to me, i'll look at it when i get home. this would include me giving a high level overview of what i think is wrong if i suspect it to not be what ffr judges are looking for.
EDIT: if the file isn't tagged then yes, upload it and somebody might be able to give you some more information regarding it's origin. |

B) The lack of "FFR simfile author" under his name Assumptions aside, I know nothing about his stepping ability. Edit:// getting knowledgeable people to review your files is a great step. What I've learned so far (and I've got a long way to go) is to above all, be consistent. Last edited by TheSaxRunner05; 08-21-2013 at 03:56 PM.. |

glove, zaghurim, yessss my point being is that the number of files present on ffr bares little correlation to how good somebody is at stepping in many cases, and this number shouldn't have any correlation to getting permissions either |

As long as you love the song and it has variety in it that lends well to stepping, go for it! |
