How about on SM? (I'm not a one hander, just curious)

I'm probably posting a little late here, just feel like saying that I play one handed three finger as well. I can pass Quasar at 1.3x music rate on Stepmania but that's when I feel like putting 100% effort into it. I'm really not that good. Really. <_< >_>

You see, I used to play one-handed. I got pretty good at it, too. And whenever I have a scratch during play, I revert back to one-handed for a second. The thing is, I started playing Stepmania. That's where I found out that there WAS a threshold for me. I couldn't get any better. I chose to change to two-handed play, using indexes. And I got better. I got a lot better.

I'm not saying that one-handers cannot be as good as two-handers. I'm sure there's a few. But, well, it's a whole lot harder.

Three finger people have probaby had it the hardest, even though there are people doing indexes. I dunno, using indexes is difficult but you can achieve many things a person using three fingers can't. I might try indexes once I know I can't get any farther on three finger

I've been playing one handed since about two weeks after I joined (look through this thread if you want to see what I played when I was a total noob :P), and it just seems too hard for me to switch. I tried, but I couldn't. Personally, there is no threshold for me. I see an improvement when I look back to about a week earlier. It isn't a huge improvement. Usually it's about 5000 points on a song, but I'm improving.

There really is no threshold. There is just a point where your development starts to slow down. For one handers, it happens earlier than others.

I am a one handed 3 fingers, LT playfield, im not great but i can full combo stuff like Secret Zombie room, breaking the common, and pretty much anything that doesnt send 3 arrows at a time..not fast enough for that yet.
As far as becoming a god... it would be hard but if you can manage to do the up downs with a third arrow easily i think youd be on the right track. im not at that point but im sure thee are some of the one handers that are fast enough.

Bleh I started playing 3 finger and by the end of the 1st day i played, i got snowflakes perfect.. i think i'll stay with it.. plus.. when i tried with 2 hands i couldn't do the easy ones.. i don't feel like practicing either..

im still not on the list and im better than most of the ppl on it.

by the way i play two fingers one handed and can do very well on every song and have dropped to a rank in the 100's in less than two days from 400 something. three fingers sucks now that i switched to 2. takes about two weeks to get used to 2 fingers though i would recomend it. 8)

you dont play stepmania do you. Ive been playing it for a very long time about 2 years. Trust me just keep tryin wit two fingers, lines are much easier cuz thats the way you play on the pad and the sequence left right is much easier to think about when playing a fastsong than left right middle is.

I play index but then sometimes I play 1 handed (3 fingers). I only started doing index about 2 months ago. Meaning Ive played with 1 hand for over 2 years so pick me!
