Go to Drive\Program Files (x86)\StepMania CVS\NoteSkins\common\default, rename Fallback Tap Mine 4x2.png to Fallback Tap Mine 4x2 (res 64x32).png, the mines would be 25% of its original size

thats what i did a while back ago, i turned the color black and the outline gray, the mines hardly affect my reading now
