I mean yeah what kommi said is mostly true, but there's no denying that bringing to public eye shared knowledge drastically improves the technical abilities of a lot of people

I find it amusing that the same guy that said this:

said this:
there's a difference:

there's ripping a file apart for every minor technical aspect (done by people who know what they're talking about).

and there's talking about strict rules of layering, pr (the irony) and all that shit that doesn't necessarily render a file more fun.

what constitutes a fun file does in fact include a proper structure, accentuation, and consistency.

Technicality and fun factor goes hand in hand. Technicality helps the chart make sense of the song, which in turn often makes the file more fun to play. Because unless it's a midare chart, not many people will enjoy playing a file that doesn't correlate to the music well (making sense of the song isn't the only source of a chart's fun factor though). It's the degree of technicality that matters.

A reasonable degree of technicality, as well as an enjoyable song (all subjective), that makes for a great file. I think "technicality" gets a worse rep than it actually deserves. People actually utilize it more than they think whether they despise the term or not. How it's used either contributes or hinders a file's fun factor.

there are many definitions for technicality

some people say it's every nitpick and audible sound and overlayered rainbow note teradumps.

some people say it's the overall consistency and flow of a file

pick your poison

I like to say that technicality is, simply put, the aspects of the chart that is relevant to the music. It's a broad statement that covers everything from the existence of a sound to layering to pitch relevancy. They all attempt to make sense of the song.

So all you're describing are various degrees in which people accept technicality in their ideal file. I've already defined it.

when steppin a file you hve to ask yourself :"is this even gonna get lpayed more than once??" 99% of the time answer is no so dont bother

if your file doesnt feel like a kil file you might as well kil yourself so you can make kil files

then you make sure to step eveyr audible sound in dddream studio cuz thats what all the people who make unfun files use

then you pick a song that was sampled using burt cummings anal evacuations aka venetian snares nightcore remix and literally every brony and their hohophobic conservative fathers will love your file

Glad to see id and loli fishing getting love :3 tho I probably should have switched hvy/oni on loli so it would occur to people that its not just the 'easier chart' haha

\O/ me too hi5

@snapps, it's not a matter of different taste haha, it's a completely different game. every one of the files is designed specifically to be enjoyed for spread, idk why anyone would expect them to be any fun at all with a different style :\
