Aside from the "who gives a fuc" ordeal, my goal was to see if I was the only one who felt like the Corporal was really over doing it. Regardless if he was "trolling" 50, doesn't mean anything, because the context of the message doesn't necessarily interpret ones mind to think he WAS trolling. I feel it was a legit gripe he has over the uniform itself. However, there was something a person said in one of the comments on the message and I quote, "Who gives a shit if he is wearing a Military Uniform, it has no meaning like it did back in the World Wars." This.... really threw me for a loop. Because I can understand what that person was saying, but at the same time, the US Military is vast and efficient. Not the largest in the world, but extremely tactical. Either way, this Corporal either had a bad day, or was on his period. Just sayin. |

this guy sure has a lot of spare time for someone in his position if he has time enough to spare for a comment like that.

With my experience of being in the Air Force (2 1/2 years and still going), I can see where this guy is coming from; when someone joins the military, you are sent to basic and taught basic military life along with your branch's core values. During the duration of basic, you're pretty much earning the privilege to wear the uniform that represents your branch. After basic and as time progresses , you work hard to achieve ribbons, awards, getting promoted, etc; for anyone who doesn't know this ,it is actually a crime to impersonate military whatsoever - putting on ribbons and false rank is punishable under the UCMJ; however, this scenario doesn't necessarily meet this criteria.
In my honest opinion, I do not think that it is that big of a deal. After all, it's just a celebrity using the uniform for photoshoot/music video. You also have to take in consideration the numerous amounts of actors/models that have worn actual uniforms (Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard) without providing any service to the country. I personally do not have a problem with anyone doing something like this...especially if they aren't showing any disrespect to the uniform - like drinking in public with the uniform on, acting an ass in public with the uniform, or going around for bragging rights and pretending to be prior military or something. This is strictly business (I'm assuming 50 cent is doing this as a sign of patriotism), and I'm pretty sure 50 cent knew he was going to risk taking punches from Marines when he was going to put on that uniform in the first place. He's not stupid. I think this situation is entirely being blown out of proportion. And for ffs, I'm not surprised it came from Facebook. That website is retarded as fuck. I would just say he's one of those die hard patriots, however, i do have NOTHING but respect for those ballsy enough to put their life on the line for our countries liberties. Aside from that, the rage was clearly childish, and immature. But hey, we've all made mistakes, i mean if i was in the position of being able to publicly attack a well known celebrity, i would do it. "Why?" Simply for attention, why not? it's self entertaining and you get your name out there, even if it's bad feedback. But to be fair, i see nothing wrong with wearing a uniform for a music video, photo shoot etc. I mean if that hurts someones pride, i think they need help.

like, I suppose if I dress up as a pharaoh, I would be undermining whatever great hardships it would take to actually become one back in those days, but thinking of it that deeply for playing dress-up is retarded Last edited by bmah; 02-7-2013 at 05:14 PM.. |

Military personnel are proud of their uniform. I know that if I saw some guy walking down the street in ACUs, and I could visibly tell that he was not a real soldier, I would fucking tear him apart.
50 cent did this for a photoshoot, so I'm not too worried about it. He's not truly impersonating a member of the military (which, btw, is illegal and can land you in jail for up to 6 months). When it comes to impersonation in movies and such, there are different details on the uniform that are wrong when compared to the uniform military personnel would wear. Which, if I remember right, is due to the federal law regarding uniforms. The issue with 50 cent's uniform is that there are none of those changed details. All of those medals are legit medals, ranked correctly and within regulations. The rank on his shoulder is an E-7 rank, and he has 3 service stripes, meaning he served 30-36 months on a combat deployment (6-18 months per stripe). So yeah, I can understand why this corporal is pissed. I'd be pissed too, if I was a marine.

What in Davy Jones' locker did ye just bark at me, ye scurvy bilgerat? I'll have ye know I be the meanest cutthroat on the seven seas, and I've led numerous raids on fishing villages, and raped over 300 wenches. I be trained in hit-and-run pillaging and be the deadliest with a pistol of all the captains on the high seas. Ye be nothing to me but another source o' swag. I'll have yer guts for garters and keel haul ye like never been done before, hear me true. You think ye can hide behind your newfangled computing device? Think twice on that, scallywag. As we parley I be contacting my secret network o' pirates across the sea and yer port is being tracked right now so ye better prepare for the typhoon, weevil. The kind o' monsoon that'll wipe ye off the map. You're sharkbait, fool. I can sail anywhere, in any waters, and can kill ye in o'er seven hundred ways, and that be just with me hook and fist. Not only do I be top o' the line with a cutlass, but I have an entire pirate fleet at my beck and call and I'll damned sure use it all to wipe yer arse off o' the world, ye dog. If only ye had had the foresight to know what devilish wrath your jibe was about to incur, ye might have belayed the comment. But ye couldn't, ye didn't, and now ye'll pay the ultimate toll, you buffoon. I'll shit fury all over ye and ye'll drown in the depths o' it. You're fish food now
