Stepmania 5.0 or Stepmania 3.9?

I used to have Stepmania 3.9 until I left the scene for quite some time and now I'm running 5.0. I know that 3.9 is better for making themes and other junk, but what version do you people prefer, and for what reasons?

I use 3.9 simply because even themeless it's more visually appealing to me and I don't have any problems with it

StepMania 5. I have quite a few reasons why I like StepMania 5 better than 3.9, but here are the biggest ones:

1) I can actually connect to SMO with SM 5, as opposed to 3.9.
2) SM 3.9 didn't like it when I had around 10,000 songs and loved to crash on me all the time, SM 5 has yet to do this.
3) My MA has far improved since switching to SM5, especially in terms of actually quadding songs.

smo shouldn't count as a reason to pick sm5 since 3.95 works and it's basicly the same, but with online added.

They asked to choose between 3.9 or SM5, not 3.95 or SM5. If you are going to go through the trouble of upgrading your SM version (which I would imagine laziness is the main factor why a lot of people haven't bothered to get SM5 since it isn't THAT huge of a deal) you might as well get SM5.

Might as well get the latest StepMania version that is actually supported for bug fixes, updates, and community input / suggestions if you are going to waste your time upgrading at all.

5.0 excels in literally every aspect possible. 3.9 is inferior.

I use 3.9 since I don't even remember when and I am still relatively satisfied, with the exception of a few editor bugs...but that's only if you plan to step simfiles. If you have no problems with it, don't bother unless you're striving for features that sm 5 has.

if you have to install stepmania again go with sm5
the 3.9 installer on stepmania.com throws in a lot of the shitty sm4 graphics/sounds now

except you can play sm 3.9 on shitty computers/laptops and do perfectly fine

with sm 5, you need a decent computer for it to run smoothly

SM5 here. My favorite advantage over 3.9 would have to be the ability to pick between 4-key and 6-key charts on the fly. Also, I'm no longer very comfortable playing with a small scroll space.
