Also let me be a little more specific. When I was in Jersey I had an ex who had a son. We had him enrolled in Kindergarten and when I went to that school I had to be identified before getting in, then had to go into the office where they'd check identification and you'd have to get a visitor badge. They also didn't just let you walk in with a bag or whatever without knowing what was inside it. It didn't matter who you were or who you knew everyone went through that process. So yeah, I have good reason to question it regardless.

Staff should be reprimanded, especially any staff that let him into the school without notifying the teacher.

Last I knew he went in with the rifle, now they're saying differently. All I know is generally elementary schools are tight about who they let in because of children being kidnapped.

What with the other thread about someone doing something similar to that in China but stabbing 20 or something kids to death (which apparently isn't a one-of either), I'm actually finding it hard to blame guns right now.

What is the school supposed to do? The person working at the office wouldn't be like 'Please sir, we don't allow firearms in here' and expect to not get shot.

It doesn't say that anyone was killed it said 22 injured. It's a lot easier to fatally wound someone with a gun than a knife. It's also easier to get off a bunch of rounds from a gun than to slash people.

Well I've been a felon for a good 5 years so I don't involve myself in the study of firearms. Just didn't look like a weapon you could get at an arms dealer. Looked a little more militant.

Companies manufacture carbon copies of military weapons because of the appeal. I personally would love to own an AR-15 because I loved the feel of my M4. And I don't know about you, but I'd love to own a Dragunov.

I was able to walk into my own elementary school with nobody stopping me whatsoever (I went back just to see what things looked like).

I went to my elementary school not too long ago either and I was able to walk right in (although the front office is right in front of you with huge glass windows and doors as you walk in so people would notice if you walked in with anything odd). On the opposite side though, to get into my old middle school, you need to be buzzed in, talk to the secretaries through the intercom, and they confirm everything then they let you in. My high school has no regulations whatsoever, office was no where near the front doors and you didn't even have to walk by it to get to classrooms.
