Re: The Fitness Thread
I like this thread.
I tried doing some running today, 2 KM to be exact. I'm VERY unfit, apparently. I cant even run one round constantly and kept feeling like I wanted to puke. Any tips? |

Nothing worse than going into the gym ready to set a squat PR and there are two bros just starting to set up side by side for curls in the gyms only two squat racks.

Not drinking water leads to cramps and passing out. Not stretching can damage your muscles and joints. When being repaired, they might not develop properly. It will also leave you sore. Not lifting will cause you to lose much needed muscle for running. Cardio is a good way to lose muscle mass. If all you're doing is running, I promise that you will lose plenty. Ignoring weight training, whether using a gym or your own body weight, will lead to very painful consequences. A good example being shin splints.

Re: The Fitness Thread
Havent been able to do actual legit cardio since I'm working longer hours (heyooo peak season) so been jogging up and down the walkways at work rather than just plodding.
Get it done. |

Re: The Fitness Thread
I'm a 185-190lbs @ 5'6" and really want to start losing weight. My self esteem no longer exists because of it. I wear a 34 waist and large shirts. I want to get down to a 32 and lose all my stomach and chest fat.
What's the best advice you guys can give me. I fucking hate working out. I hate the feeling. I just started p90x today and hoping that'll help me lose a bit of weight. My girlfriend bought it so I figured I'd get her moneys worth. If I'm already this size am I better off bulking instead of losing weight? The problem is all my weight is on my chest and gut.

Also, I recommend that anyone with excess weight lose the weight before trying to bulk anyway. Losing weight is all about calorie restriction. I suggest you start weighing yourself regularly in the morning and start cutting back on all of your portion sizes for meals. Continue to restrict your calories until you're losing 1-2 pounds per week (I wouldn't recommend trying for much more at your weight). In order to fight off the hunger, try making more of your calories lean proteins (chicken, lean beef, steak) and drink more water.

Re: The Fitness Thread
Follow the p90x diet, honestly. For people who are just wanting to lose weight, that'll get it done and it gives you lots of options.
Squatted 500 pounds then went in for 8 hours of throwing tires and stuff. Brings my big 3 total up to 1405. |

Re: The Fitness Thread
I want to be around 140-150lbs come summertime. I'd like to have some muscle definition though. I don't just want to lose weight, I want to also tone. So I should do more reps and lower weights, correct?
I have 30 weeks before July. So if I lose 1lb a week then I'd reach my goal, but considering I'd also be gaining muscle weight during the process I can't really go by that.

Re: The Fitness Thread
I'll definitely do that. Think it's possible to lose most of that 40lbs I want to lose over the 90 day p90x period?

Re: The Fitness Thread
Most likely. You have to be fanatical and dedicated about it. Follow their diet, sleep 8+ hours a day, drink lots of water, no sodas alcohol etc.
