RtR brought back Shocklands, which is awesome. Actually the whole set looks awesome right now, can't wait for prereleases

I joined back in Urza's block *years* ago, and stayed until just after Kamigawa. Missed out a few years and a couple of weeks ago was dragged back in by a friend to play legacy! Currently working on affinity and lands in that format, with an interest in building the notoriously difficult to play doomsday deck.

Standard has never held much appeal to me as it's such an expensive game, and the idea that your cards can cycle out of a format you love seems a waste of money to someone who lives in an area with next to no competetive play. Legacy is perfect <3

Anyways. Just inherited 7000+ cards off a friend. I know what I'm going to be sorting for the next few days...


Anyways, regarding the new set is there a spoiler out? Although I don't play standard, drafts are actually the most fun thing in existance.

Edit: He gave me all his cards. Then a year later wanted them back, and then he sold them for like 200 bucks.

I used to have a passing interest in the game. Then a few friends of mine thought it'd be fun for the whole lot of us to register for an Organized Play event. FNM booster draft, I forget the set, but it was the one with Shimian Spectre in it. (I only know this because I pulled it.)

Anyway, the format was best of 3, top 8 moved to finals, plus 2 randomly selected consolation prizes. I proceeded to lose ALL SIX OF MY GAMES, and my brother scored one of the two consolations, an FNM special edition Engineered Plague when I was trying to draft mono-black.

I believe the proper term to describe me walking out of that unsuspecting game store is "ragequit." I might have even taken a swing at one of the other guys for talking me into the whole thing.

This. Although now half the shop plays Magic. My supervisor is Level 1 judge for tournaments for god's sake. I'm probably the only sailor in the shop that doesn't play Magic religiously.
