+1 to OP; a notification of a removal should definitely be sent.

I don't mind someone removing me from friends list so much as they would notify me of their doing so. Does that make things clearer? I just like to keep track of things is all.
The issue comes in whereby someone adds people to their friends list (presumably so they can get more profile views or such) but then removes them and is leeching. If this could be all automated it would be that much easier but since it isn't, I really don't think it's that much to ask of people to just be up front about stuff like that. |

This thread..
wat Also, what in the ****, why the notification? This isn't god damn Facebook. Just make it so it's a mutual termination. If Person A deletes Person B as a friend, they are off of Person B's list. a+ comedy though, I'm still dying. Last edited by Pseudo Enigma; 08-10-2012 at 12:34 AM.. Reason: damn that messup :| |

You get a notification when someone is added.
You should get a notification when someone is removed. Not a difficult concept. |

Yeah, I guess a notice would be nice but some people can take it seriously and put it to "question" with the person.
Cute post.

Giving some sort of notification when you are deleted/deleting someone is just going to cause drama. Just stick with delete them, and that's it. Removed from friends.

It's far from the dumbest thread of the year -- people are just being immature rather than at least talking about it.
I personally think it would be a good idea to have notifications for it; even though other social networking sites don't do something like it, it's something that I personally feel should be an option to enable/disable at the very least. |

It's like.. not even necessary at all.
What's the point? What good can come from it? Why should the Admins waste their time on it? Will these questions stop? Line break..? |

I think it should be a mutual removal, whether or not you get notified. That's the biggest thing in my opinion.

baby dont hurt me no but really, wouldnt it just be a slap in the face to send a notice of friend removal. I mean if i want to remove somebody, usually its because i never speak to them, or they turn out to be annoying. I would much rather be able to remove them without telling them anything. But yeah good topic, it could go either way.

The only reason I can possibly see why anyone would be against the proposal is if they like being on lots of people's friends lists but don't want others on theirs. And do you know how much of a creepy **** that makes you?
Mutual removal needs to be implemented. Since it isn't, a manual notice of removal for purposes of the other person manually removing you as well from theirs isn't unreasonable to ask for. The only possible conclusion I can draw is many of you are creepy ****s who like being on lots of people's lists but don't want lots of people on yours because you want to draw the appearance that lots of people "want" to be your friends but you're "uber-exclusive" despite the fact you're likely the one who added them in the first place, they likely accepted the request to be nice, and you likely added tons of other people as well and did the same to boast a sort of pseudo-popularity. And that makes you the ultimate losers. The only people being unreasonable in this thread are many who apparently prefer being creepers and like the current broken system because it allows you to continue being creepy ****s. |

we should just remove the friends list all together... i think the only thing i cared about the friends list for was the notifications i got when ppl made a random thought or added a pic.. which i dont even have on my profile anymore with the new layout.. this thread is kinda silly tho who cares if somone removes you.. its ffr .. lool

This thread is both amusing and silly.
+1 for idea of notifications of someone being removed (Though lets be honest, all this would probably do is cause someone to get angry even though said person never talked to you before.) |
