The Ricky Bobby "if you're not first, you're last" attitude some people have about tournaments is bullshit though. I went in expecting to beat 5-10 people in D5. I got top half, and that's a different kind of victory.

I'm up to almost 200 restarts on this song and I'm still pissed about that 7-0-1-0 run.
Taking a break for the day. >:/

however, the crux of my last post was that people expect this tournament to be run perfectly in respect to them, which is not only self-centered, but also embarrassing and annoying. we should be content and thankful that we have such a wide-reaching tournament giving opportunities to all echelons of players. and there should never be a reason to complain about a file in a tournament, you either score well on it or you don't -- it's not the quality of the file or song. tl;dr - mad cuz bad is super annoying and no one cares about your opinion

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
ow ow ow ow ow. just tried to play love and justice, but I have pretty bad inflammation in my upper left arm. prob done with tackle football for a while, oops. ow **** I basically had to mash past the midway point lawl. this kind of file isn't my specialty at all... gonna take some serious practice for me to move on. we talkin bout PRACTICE?!
good lord, powerfull, godly AAA. clearly someone's p good at jumpstream sorry to hear about your mom's health problems, colt. I know if I faced such a situation, ffr would be waaaay on the back burner. who knows though, maybe you'll sit down for 10 minutes and pull off a great score! that's one of my favorite things about this game... you just never know. bluearrow offed by a boo, ouch. get well soon ## edit: OMG I FC'D, I RULE. the good news: I have a lot of room for improvement on jumptrills. the bad news: see "the good news" edit2: ugggg had a mid sdg until I bombed the last jumptrill. I need new hands. Last edited by dAnceguy117; 08-5-2012 at 12:46 PM.. |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
does love and justice present stamina issues for anyone else? I average like 3g thru the first half and then end up with 30s + miss lol
edit: went from 20s + gross stuff to 12 clean. jumped one rank. fuuuuuuuuuu Last edited by dAnceguy117; 08-5-2012 at 12:58 PM.. |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
For me it's not stamina. It's mindblocks. I said it before; the whole song is a giant ****ing mindblock.

But now it's just stamina... kinda. Main reason why I dumped 7g and a boo in the very last section on that replay~ I have gotten 7g 1b like.. every other time I play the file. sux Other reason why I'm suckin is prolly cuz I'm in new territory and can't find a good spot to play. Currently using my trumpet case as a chair, and laptop/keyboard on a piano stool.

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
I'd love to make top 8, but really I've far exceeded my personal best and would settle for 14th+ and TWWW.
I've got 6 days to cure this mindblock though; we'll see what happens!

Not sure if it'll help, but have you tried mirroring it?

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Currently for me it's completely stamina. My wrists tend to lock up pretty bad when there's a consistent heavy file, and this one prevents that challenge.

just a heads up for d5ers, and I'm sure it varies from person to person, but love and justice is 200x easier on mirror for me. |
