Default Are we slowly moving back to single releases?

I'm sure I'm not the only one that's noticed this trend. More single files are being released, with 8 being released within the last week or so.

Do you think we're moving towards more single releases? And if so, do you think that's a good or bad thing?

With a simfile database being created, slowly but surely, I think that more single releases and less packs is a great thing. Especially for newer simfile artists. I'm excited to see how much stepmania will grow within the next couple of months.

i agree with popadopalis

also, i prefer to have releases organized into packs, i find it hard to keep track of single releases

Same. I don't think it's a bad thing at all. Although I think it's easier to miss a file when it's released if you only dl things from one place like me.
Like Triple Baka (gr8 file btw) is already not on this page anymore and I only dl files from this site and rarely do I go back a page for threads.

Edit: Oh wait, I keep forgetting there's a subform for sims. lmao

Still

shutup i haven't been on this site in like 5 months ok gosh mom

plopadop nailed it

this recent single releases thing has me intrigued though so I will probably hold out on doing a megapack for the time being and see where this goes

historically, most single releases have gotten less attention than ones featured in packs. I personally feel discouraged from putting in hard work on a file once I consider the risk of said file completely slipping through the cracks.

single releases are definitely viable for people who pump out lots o' simfiles though. I'm sure a new simfile db would help sim makers get noticed.

I'd like to see a major pack that isn't "ffr community 2nd week of june megapack" for a while.

But since there isn't one, singles releases are just fine for now. We've really done the pack thing nonstop for 7 years. Perhaps it is time to take a small break

I think things are fine as is right now. We started a little single release trend and we'll see what happens.

I think we've had enough packs for a while.

I guess I'm the lame one that has my singles folder labeled as singles. -______-

I don't prefer singles because it's easier to lose them/not being able to keep track.
I prefer singles because I don't play half the shit in any pack I have ever.
