In the earlier rounds, they all move on. Later rounds, there's a tiebreaker.

I don't know when exactly they start using tiebreakers, but I recall D1 used one to determine who would get [Oni].

Typically yes, but sometimes people end up AAAing them anyways (lol {rose})

If everyone in their division AAAs their song, it'll be up to Jae to decide if everyone moves on or if there will be some sort of tiebreaker.

Then again, tiebreakers were never really for AAAs, so yeah, what igr said in the next post. It's either AAA or die.

D4 actually had a situation like that with their Round 2 song last year. It's since been called "AAA or die," and in this case, everyone moves on. Tiebreakers are only invoked if the elimination line is between players with identical non-AAA scores.

Thanks for all the help on these questions! Here's my last one, are there lists of songs from previous years' tournaments? I'm just curious as to what type of difficulty one can expect near the 8th round.

Does anyone know the usual level of progression for the tournament? For example, the song for D4 (Addicted to drugs something lol) is a difficulty level of 60. Would next week progress to like say a 63? or would it be much more drastic, like 70? Just wondering, because after about a 63 difficulty, I go from AAA to shit shit shit. lol

EDIT: does anyone else have this problem? to me it seems if it's "readable" it's AAA'able. If I can't read it because it's just ridiculous jumpstream with doubles everywhere, I just sorta give it my best and take all sorts of goods.

Just got a new hard drive with Windows on it...

...and I'm going to be dual-booting with Ubuntu just to play FFR, because I've gotten way too used to it. Not to mention, I'm lagging on Windows anyway.

I have this problem to a degree, there are just some songs I can handle, and others I can't. While I can't AAA this round's song atm, (<3 You Mindblocks) my highest AAA is a 59, so it means I'm right there. I essentially don't have a very high chance if the next round's song is rank 65 or higher, because I have no FMO SDGs.
