I'm looking for someone who is talented at cropping images with a clean edge. I would like to have this image cut out from the background and the pink glow removed as well.
![]() If credits matter to anyone I can give you some I guess. The end goal is to hopefully look better than my attempt here. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/58437091/4chanTheme3.jpg

Hmm...gave it a try, but I'm not getting any good results, that glow is just irritating as **** to remove. Various combinations of the magic wand, quick select, and color range select tools haven't gotten me far, the only way I can think of getting a image with clean edges is by going in and editing the edges manually pixel by pixel, but I don't have the patience to do that right now. :/

you did the headphone wires a lot more nicely than me. xD The image still looks really iffy on a black background though :/

I took ca25nada's image and erased the extra pink around the border then put black behind it. (And the pink wasn't much; you have to look at it at 200% to really see it. There was a section between the headphones and the hair that wasn't cut out though.) So ca25nada can keep the credit.
Here's one with and without the shadow. ![]() Because the glow is almost 100% red, that makes it much easier to get rid of. I increased the red a bit with Levels first. Now in the red channel, the glow is already gone. I Ctrl+Clicked on the channel to select the white, inverted the selection, and filled that in with black on a layer under ca25nada's render. |

Very nice quality job guys. Thanks for the help. I really need to read up on some tutorials on how to do this right. Went with silvuh's second image after comparing them all on black backgrounds.

I was gonna jump on this but you guys took care of it well! Nice. That last one is flawless Silvuh.
I always find that a good quick selection and using the "mask edge" and "refine edge" tools REALLY get a good starting point, and then its a matter of manually going at the leftover pixels. Unless you want to play with channels and select by colour range. EDIT: yes, that was good thinking Silvuh I'm colourblind so that's certainly a disadvantage, not knowing what channel levels to increase :l

Here's the finished product after I finished recoloring it to match my theme. I think it looks a lot better than it did originally.
