Default Crisis City: Act 1 [4key: 11]

Well, I think it's an 11, based off of the old school grading system, if there is one.

Not my first file, which was submitted to the FFRparty pack. Figured something from the whole "DAT VIOLIN" stuff from Sonic Generations would get stepped, but so far this is it. Climaxing like crazy with a unique guitar solo near the end.

And yes, it's "Antronach", I just spelled my username wrong cause I was blind while registering. So please enjoy and leave feedback.

You have a few errors in the end with the guitar solo, but nothing too noticeable during a play test. I also think you should've used more mines instead of just having one come out of no where. Overall, it's a decent file. I'da probably accept it with a couple of tweaks if I wasn't so lazy :P

Is this from Sonic Generations or Sonic 2006?

Generations. I fixed the OP so it'll say where it's from.

I dunno, there's a plentiful of ghost notes, or at least going to very insignificant sounds.
The layering is iffy, seems quite random at times. The solo clearly has ghost notes and missing notes.
Various strange choice of PR on drum sections, even looking like misrhythms.

Personally, I found it... a file. The sync is fine, that's a given.

The file is okay. Some of the sync is off, the patterns were fun to tap out, but I think you should check up on the sounds. This could of been stepped with more to it. ie some parts you missed jumps and probably could of made it more fun by adding 64ths to the guitar noises since they're more of a strum than a solid sound

I wanted the mine to come out of nowhere and surprise the player. I see that it didn't work. Thank you.

I wasn't aiming for technicalities, I was just trying to make it enjoyable. If putting a step in a place where no sound is, but would help with the flow, then I would put it there. The same goes vice versa. About PR, it never dawned to me while stepping the chart, but it doesn't look like it needs it. Thank you though.

Adding 64th notes seemed like overkill, so I went with holds. I might look into those missed jumps though. Thank you.

If you want I could step a section as to what I'm talking about without heavily changing the file

Review from Choofers (he's banned atm):

Quote:
Playthrough thoughts - The first thing that jumps out at me is that the file is onsync. Layering throughout the file was inconsistant. Many times it was hard to hear what was being stepped, so it seems like you stepped the background noises on purpose, instead of stepping the prominent sounds. Hand usage near the end of the file was also inconsistant.

Editor thoughts - The very first note should, imo, be a jump, due to the crash. Beginning at m5, when you begin layering, you forget to layer in the sounds that occur every measure (jumps at m5, m6, m7, m8). M9 should also be a jump to indicate a crash. The sound that's stepped from m9-m16 is barely noticable, so it feels like you used random 16ths. M25 should be a jump as well, crash (m17 is a jump but m25 isn't, woop). M25 to m33 feels really underlayered. M44/m52 you have random minijacks? Guitar solo from m53 to m61 is very weirdly stepped. M61 you use a minifreeze to show there's a crash but it's the only time it's used. Hand usage from m65 to m68 is strange (climax theory?)

With all of those issues aside, the file flows decently well is doesn't seem like there are any transitioning errors. I'd go back and look at the things I mentioned. You know how to step stuff, now it's time to refine your files.
