this pack is awesome, it's true. Especially the solo files, been picking out files to play from this pack since I started solo'ing (though I couldn't do so well on most of them at the time), much props to Roar for making this :>

I just don't like how this pack is ignored in general
I myself spent over a year working on it and most of people just ignore its existence This pack just reflects almost all my efforts made through over a year. I'm a very experienced stepcharter. In a few months it will have been 4 years that I stepped my first file. During Xoon4 I have somehow quitted single, yes because the amount of non-single charts I have done since mid-2009 is just too d*amn high !! Pull harder on the strings of your martyr was the last single file I stepped seriously (Dunno if you guys remember I was somehow arrogant back in the time (but hey I'm #1 hater yo)) After that I made like 10- charts just because I felt like it or because people requested or because a Light Chancellors Pack isn't a Light Chancellors Pack without its SUPER STAR MITSURU file lOl. And funny things is they get reviewed !! (and they get poor reviews ...) But since mid-2009 I've started solo and stepcharting for solo. I released a bunch of files that nobody downloaded because Malice was not happy with the banner sizes. I released Oslo files pack (the one with Shuffle Heaven) that got included into one of the X Solo Files pack series. I'm the biggest guest contributor of PSBP1 and I also files ready for PSBP2. I stepped more than half of SIRIUS pack and also made several single releases (such as IIDX18 Preview). And I'm pretty sure I made over 100 solo charts. And none of them gets any spotlight, only Parallel Rotation Minipack was reviewed by like 5 people and I even remember paexaea skipping my files because they were "Roar files" while he played Suijou no teitoku thinking the solo chart was a collab between me and Scylaax and he liked it. And you can also add all my SIRIUS single charts that are completely ignored. Plus, solo fits perfectly with my heavily layering based stepping style. It really shows how good my files can be. With single I'm limited and I tend to do things that people will call overlayer "typical Roar file". With LINCLE pack I'm forcing myself to put 3 charts per songs to really make my files accessible to everybody. So people still stop saying sh*ite like Roar got bad at stepping ALL MY TURN no fun file (while it had a decent replay value I believe). And that's why I hate it especially when you speak about solo not to mention my files. tl;dr during 2 years I provided serious efforts (with non-single files) but I do still not get the recognition I expected. If you like this pack ChoofZ show some Rael Supporte Play it Share opinions Share scores Share vids !! Yell everywhere that I'm King (o: |

I think it largely has to do with solo itself. People are so used to 4keys that they'd never want to traverse outside of it. Even for the pack I just made which has multiple difficulties, you can already tell that the attention for that pack lasted a day and a half and has already waned, even with the bumping of my posts. I worked on that pack on and off for two years.
Solo really needs to be used as a trendsetter before there's any real engine fuel going on. |

Let's murder Gundam-Dude so he stops making single packs lOl
We can make these 2 packs worth their values but "we" here is the entire community Just make some solo score threads and people will try to "sup" your scores etc. and the longer the thread the better ... I think. |

Well you have to look at who promotes 4keys the most: sites like FFR obviously. Not saying 4keys is bad by any means, but sites like FFR and Thirdstyle solely promotes this style of playing. Some people might believe that if solo was added to FFR, FFR's identity would only more closely mimic Stepmania's, reducing the "originality" and attractiveness of FFR. But really, this only serves to put solo in the backwaters eternally.
I heard in discussions about FFR's future that solo could be included as a separate game in itself, and I hope this will happen someday. I think solo will always be overshadowed though, whether or not sites promote this style of playing, because 4keys will always be regarded as the stepping stone -BEFORE- one would dare to even attempt 6keys/solo. "start with the easier style of playing" is a natural thought that a beginner would normally think, so mentally, 4keys will always have this preferential upper hand. Ben's/Choofer's solo tournament is a good start however, as incentives are really needed to push this style of playing at all. Without those incentives, I've heard from many people that they're perfectly happy sticking with 4keys and are not interested otherwise. |

It definitely has to do with your past files lol. For the most part, when people say "roar files," they think of hyper layered files that have very little replay value past scoring factors. So when they hear "roar solo files," they think of... hyper layered solo files.
I think it's awesome that Lincle Megapack will have multiple difficulities.
