^This. And that seems like it's exactly what the athiest that got attacked/arrested did. He made a facebook page that got 1,700+ likes and was apparently very outspoken. IMO that's no different than a person that believes in god posting a page saying that "God Exists" and being outspoken about it. Oftentimes I find athiests just as obnoxious as people who believe in god

Did he deserve to be attacked/arrested? I don't think so. I think he should have the right to believe what he wants to.

Its kinda hard to prove that someone is atheist because they can easily just lie and say that they believe in some sort of religion.

You are correct that Buddhism is an atheistic religion for the most part, but like Christianity, there are denominations of Buddhism that worships Buddha.
