so I screencut with 1x speedmod and always have but Kmay is really trying to tell me to go up and try speedmods. Just want some opinions because darkshark was really good with a screencut but it seems like to really get legit you kind have to go full screen

it's where you drag the window down so you only see half the screen. So when I play I can't see how many perfects I get and I see about half the combo

Real men jump from 1X to 2X without any middle ground.
Also: Do what works. You might want to do it for the sake of shit fests like RATO Chik Habit and Einstein Rosen Bridge's cute little color **** 64ths. |

Over time I'm almost certain you'll end up playing better if you go fullscreen and just increase your speedmod. It'll take a while to get used to playing higher, but you'll have more gaps between the arrows whilst still having less on the screen to throw you off at once. Hell, take it slow and increase your speedmod by 0.1 at a time and just cut your screen a tiny bit less with each increase XD

You can be part of a very exclusive group 8)
elite one-handers are highly respected in the ffr community, so your different playing style makes you "unique". maybe you could go for #1 screen-cutter on FFR. But like one-handed players, screen-cutting has it's limitations. Realistically, you will not be able to play the songs Middie mentioned as well as you would normally be able to by using speedmods. All depends whether you want to play speedmods poorly now, and excel in the long run, or see how far you can get before hitting the 'limitations' of screen-cutting. GL & HF |

I can't possibly see how you'd be able to score on FMOs and higher with screencutting, the timing windows become so visually small it's basically a nightmare when it comes to scoring. Heck, people even say 1.75 is slow and that's what I use.
It's your choice though, frame intervals become ridiculously hard to distinguish on 1x Edit: lmfao, played Death Piano with 1x screencut and I got 107 goods, 2 avs, 6 misses and 3 boos.

You can definitely make distinctions between the notes better with a faster speedmod.
It is a game though. If you have more fun with what you're doing, then you should stay. But if you're intent on getting better then it would probably be best to make the switch. |

I gotta say I like how I can see the perfects. When I screencut I would sometimes be off a little but I wouldn't know it and I would play the whole song hitting too early or late and get horrible scores. I would have to set autofail to 1 good but then I just got too nervous. Now I can easily correct myself. I feel like I just have to get used to the patterns a bit more. If I can get a new AAA today with full screen I will be pretty happy.
Also I want nothing more then to get better I don't really care about being best screencutter if I can be better this way wow I am improving really fast I can probably get to my screencut skill level tonight if I play enough Last edited by Jerry DB; 01-1-2012 at 04:36 PM.. |

"Just a 9" ? lol. That's pretty good though. Considering I think the highest I have AAA'd are a few 8s. (Although there's a couple of close but no cigar 9s)
