Two questions about SM-SSC
Because I recently updated my Mac (haters get out!) to OS X Lion, the only version of Stepmania that will work from now on seems to be SM-SSC. While the interface is pretty slick, there are two issues I'm currently facing, with which I might need a hand.
1. SSC doesn't seem to generate .dwi files. Instead, it generates .ssc files. I know that the submission rules ask for a .dwi file, but I'm struggling right now as I can't produce it at all! Does anyone know how to fix this? Are .ssc files equivalent to .dwi? 2. C-mods have been altered, I believe. It looks like the developer of SSC removed C-mods like C-600 available in k//eternal themes and such for elusive m550 mods... Is there a way to fix this back by editing something inside of the SSC folders? Have I lost the mod forever? What does m550 do in the first place? Thanks in advance to anyone who has the slightest clue of what is going on. Last edited by MarioNintendo; 12-12-2011 at 09:13 AM.. |

Re: Two questions about SM-SSC
The cmods can be trivially modified in the file Data/SpeedMods.txt
As for file creation, I hear that you should still be using SM3.9 if you can figure out how to get that to work.

Re: Two questions about SM-SSC
AppData\Roaming\StepMania 5\Save\
poke around in there and find speedmods.txt if you cant get it to work by editing Data/speedmods C987,C897,C822,C759,C705,C658,C616,C580,C548,C519,C493,C1233,C1096 and so on and so forth as for question 1 just step in ddream like seriously a brain-dead starfish could step in ddream e: on that note i'd really like to know how to do a custom toasty in sm5 Last edited by MinaciousGrace; 12-12-2011 at 05:52 AM.. |

Re: Two questions about SM-SSC
keep sm3.9 so you can convert your sm files to dwi
basically all you have to do is load in sm3.9 and save once without changing anything. oh, you can't run sm 3.9, nvm ):

Re: Two questions about SM-SSC
SM SSC doesn't produce .dwi files because it's a pretty outdated filetype to use in stepmania anymore since no one plays in DWI anymore. They didn't think FFR required .dwi though, which I don't blame. They're just trying to move on.
They kept .sm because there's still plenty of people in SM3.9/3.9+/OpenITG and it's needed for custom songs in r21 cabs.

Re: Two questions about SM-SSC
The solution to the first question is to use an older version of sm-ssc.
